Virtual Battleschool Rules:
1. Virtual Battleschool takes place five years before the events of Ender's Game, and characters from the novel should not be used. This is a matter of copyright protection.
2. Don't contradict the book. There is a lot of history in battle school that we don't know, which is open for many stories, but some things are clearly established -- eg, only two people ever died in Battle School, one of them during the course of the novel. Since both these characters are named in the story, no character in Virtual Battle School may die. If you're not sure about something you want to write, ask a question in the out-of-character area, and find out what the consensus is.
3. Keep posts "PG-13." Violence exists in Battle School, but keep your descriptions non-graphic. Any real weapons smuggled into Battle School will be confiscated by the teachers.
4. While young romance might occur among some of the older students, remember that any inappropriate behavior would undoubtedly be punished by the administrators, probably the icing of one or both parties. And in all cases, use good judgment and taste.
5. Try to keep your character's special talents Reasonable. Remember, Ender's talents were considered extraordinary in this context.
