Rubbing his head Kyle approached the mess with several other members of Toon B and nodded to Sue where she was waiting outside the Mess doors. Classes were tough today, all the teachers seemed to want to add new stuff to the program at the same time. He let out a sigh as he followed Sue into the Mess.

He let the others pass him and Sue and formed the back of the line but only for a second, hungry kids were starting to come through the door for lunch after classes. Grabbing two trays and handing one to Sue they quietly recieved there food and ended up at a table that was mostly filled with kids in the Blue White and Silver of the Barracuda uniforms. They chose the far end and sat and ate in silence. They pretty much always did. More often than not the first word was spoken only after both had finished eating.

As he lifted another fork full of food Kyle wondered why it was always that way. Barracuda as a whole was quiet army, Perrin made sure of that. But Kyle didn't think it was that. It had to be the strain of classes. The one time he or Sue had ever gotten in an argument was here, in the mess. He had been stressed about classes and she stressed about Toon B's not so active role in the battle the night before. It was nothing huge, but more than they had ever known. Since then, meal time was silent until afterwards of course. They would chat about classes then or the preceding or upcoming battle.

He looked up from his plate and caught her eyes. She wasn't finished yet so he just smiled ever so slightly. She smiled back and the stress of classes seemed to melt away.

How do you do that?

He almost grinned about the fact that he almost felt as if he wasn't allowed to talk.

Sue sat there, thankful that most soldiers hadn't gotten to the mess yet, leaving it relatively quiet so that she could think. Idely eating her food, her thoughts wandered back to her Trig test first class, trying to work out that problem in her head. She had had the answers right in front of her, the math worked out but the answer just didn't look right. She couldn't understand it.

Kyle glanced up from his food and gave her a slight smile and she couldn't help but smile in return. It felt as if just a smile from him, his approval would right any problem that she had, maybe even put an end to the bugger war and let them go home.

And when she went back to her food and began to remember where she was on that Trig problem, she couldn't remember for the life of her what she was thinking before. She shook her head and chuckled silently, finishing her food.

By the time she was finished she still hadn't been able to retrace her thoughts back to before Kyle's smile. For all she knew he'd done it on purpose. A cleaver ploy to keep her from worrying. He'd told her once that she thought things through and analyzed them a little too much. Maybe he was right.

He was still eating his own food, not quite done and Sue stabbed her fork into one of the pieces of mystery meat. He glanced up at her. "You know what Kyle? You're a jerk." She did her best to keep a straight face while she munched on the piece of liberated meat but before she could swallow it she found her self with a big smile across her face.

Justin finished receiving his food and made his way over to where most of Barracuda usually sat. He saw Sue and Kyle sitting toward the end of a table and headed toward them. He chose the seat next to Kyle so they were both sitting across from Sue. He looked up at her and joked, "Not a bad job yesterday, anymore shows like that and you might have my position before long." She giggled slightly and went to work on his food.

Drea glared at the launchies in front of him. He'd never noticed that they came to the mess about the same time as Barracuda because he was usually through the line and eating by now but Colonel Petterson kept him after to talk about his Political Philosophies in the 20th Century paper. Surprisingly it was praise, something he usually didn't get from teachers. They usually gave comments about him not trying hard enough or accused him of cheating when he did do well. But even though the news was good he still despised the fact that he was kept after.. now he had to wait while the little urchins of battleschool got their food before he could.

Most of the army was already seated and pigging out on their processed, dehydrated and then rehydrated food and he was still in line waiting behind babies. He seriously contemplated cutting in front of the launchies, if they whined maybe giving them one of those "I'm older than you, don't push me or you won't be able to eat for a few weeks" glare... only to desert teh idea once he noticed Sue sitting across the barracks. She'd always scolded him for treating the little kids like he did, but then again she scolded him for treating his commanders and past toonleaders like he did as well. If her were to cut in front of all the launchies, surely they would cry and whine like the babies that they were and draw attention, get sue to reprimand him for it and he'd be no further ahead then where he was before except perhaps with food in his stomach a little sooner than if he just waited.

He turned back to the line and took a step forward as it moed only to turn back around and watch Sue and Kyle at the table. She was sitting there with a big smile across her face, her green eyes shining. He frowned. Then there was Kyle. Standing between that beautiful smile and himself.

" The person in your way isn't who you think..."

Rachel was wrong. Kyle was the problem. No one else. Drea knew who was in his way not Rachel. She didn't know what she was talking about.

He turned back to get his food and turned to go find a seat with his toon. He sat down and glanced back over in Sue's direction only to see Justin saying something and her giggling a little pink in the cheeks.

No. Rachel was wrong. Justin couldn't be in the picture. Of course not. What would Sue see in him anyway? Sure he was the leader of toon A and tall and strong.. but he wasn't her type. He frowned and stared at his foor.

She's wrong and we both know it. She's just trying to get to you... Justin isn't in the game. It's just a coincidence... Yes. A coincidence!

ooc - Sorry all, I had to go to a funeral in Cali. But I'm back now. - ooc

Ammon turned to see Drea behind him. Great, just great. He turned and tried not to be noticed by the older boy. It was better not to be noticed.

Ammon knew that Drea didn't like the smaller kids. He was always pushing them out of the way and taking food and such. Ammon usually stayed out of the way, but he did expect retaliation. Unbeknownst to Drea, Ammon had once hacked into one of Drea's old armies and demolished his scores. It was a ploy to get back at him for beating up on his launch.

Ammon suspected this was a reason that Drea had had so many problems with past commanders, and was traded around so often. That record was following him, and he didn't even know it. So Ammon did his best to stay away. He got his food, and then sat down at a table with his Toon. He began to eat silently.

Mordrid grabed his tray pushing past a few luanchies and other younger soilders. he didn't have time to be polite today. he was hungry and he had a few other meetings he had to take care of. he picked up what they passed for a steak and potatoes, and some green beans with a chocolate milk to wash it down and sat at his armies table to see if there was anything to report.

ooc - Since things are moving at a snail's pace in here anyway, can we hold off on anything major until Tuesday? I have to go on a short trip and I won't be back until then. I'll take Ammon out of the loop until then, though. - ooc

Ammon finished his food and took the tray to the disposal unit. I'm still kind of hungry. He walked to the mess hall door, carrying his personal desk under his arm. Without a word, he walked into the hallway.

Ammon's desk was one of the exceptions that the IF had made concerning the "no possesions transferable" clause. In launch, they had attempted to take his desk from him, but he had used another to find where it was by cracking into the school's camera systems. He retrieved his desk and created a miniature touch-pad alarm, which noted the fingerprint of whomever touched the power button. Ammon entered his ten fingers, and activated the alarm to sound if anyone else ever touched that button. The IF simply gave up trying to take it from him.

The other thing that set his desk apart was its color. Instead of the bland color of the IF's desks, Ammon's was a dark crystal blue. On it he had placed a few decals displaying the word "VALOR." He also had a small sticker directly on the back that had a illustrated muscle-man with a sword. Around the figure were the words "AMMON: MAN OF ARMS" Under that was the phrase "ALL OPPOSED RAISE YOUR HAND".

Ammon walked down the hall, ignoring the other people, and continued walking without thinking about anything in particular.

Sue smiled over at Justin, feeling some pink rise in her cheeks. She needed to get used to this whole flattery thing. Sometimes she wondered if kids said this kind of stuff to her just to see if she would blush.

Sue turned in her seat to look around, turn her pink cheeks away from them so that she wouldn't blush even more. She saw Mordrid sitting down a few tables away. Mordrid. She had heard a lot of rumors about what he and Griffin were up to and knowing Griffin she was sure that they were all true.

She turned back to Justin and Kyle, who were both finishing up their food, and then turned glanced back. Most of Griffin was here. She would be here too...

"Kyle, Justin, when you guys are finished I've...got some work to do at the barracks. Rather not hang out here..."

She watched the door wearily, her last encounter with Spear and Darren had gotten Kyle involved. She didn't want him to get needlessly involved again if Spear showed up. He'd been injured last time and she'd been out of commission for about 3 weeks with her broken ribs. She would get Spear and Darren back for it but not at Kyle's expense. Right now she just wanted to get out of here before Spear showed.

Sarah walked briskly into the cafeteria, ignoring the few other people there. A strange place to do research, but she figured that nobody would bother her there. She wasn't a student, and there weren't many students there anyway, so after briefly surveying the place, she sat down and logged on to her desk.

Search: Quentin Zerefos

I hope I spelled that right . . . what a laugh if I didn't! Sarah thought amusedly. A list of names came up, and she chose the one that seemed to match Mr. Scrooge. "I love teacher priveleges," She muttered, scanning the screen. Then she sat back in her seat in shock. She was closer than she thought . . .

"No wonder he's Mr. Scrooge . . ." She murmured, reading his profile. "Consultant of the History channel . . . well, no wonder!" But that couldn't be the sole source of his bitterness towards the IF, could it? Sarah sat staring at her screen for a moment, flummoxed.

At last she got up and decided to head back to the teacher's lounge. She had found out why Mr. Scrooge was so sure of himself, but there were still more mysteries to solve, she was sure of it.

Or maybe I'm just making a mountain out of a molehill. Maybe there really isn't anything about this guy, maybe he's just a jerk in general, and there's nothing mysterious about it at all. But something inside her told her that this was not true, and so Sarah became convinced again to continue probing into 'Mr. Scrooge'.

Ammon found himself back at the mess before he knew it. Wow, that was a quick round trip. He didn't really have anything better to do, so he sat down at a table that was only occupied by a teacher who was working on her desk. She didn't seem to notice him, so he sat down and flipped his desk on.

The desk displayed his pointer fingerprint and the word 'ANALYZING.' It displayed 'MATCH ACCURATE' and went to his start-up screen. Ammon began working on his next security system, typing away.

Frenchy followed Dragoon and took his tray. He looked at it one second, and then he asked to the woman who had given it to him.
"Is this supposed to be good food?"
The woman didn't even blinked
I guess she's used to this
"It's the same food you gave us yesterday."he added smiling.
"Kid, you want me to grab your breakfast?"
"Um... nope. It's great, really! I was just... joking, yeah.
Grosse horrible..." he mumbled in his best french accent.
"What did you just..."
"Nothing."
He went to the table in which Dragoon was waiting him and sat in front of him.
"Well... I don't know how we're supposed to do this. Maybe we can just explain our ideas, and then try to put them together, huh?"

Feets walked into the mess and got a tray. Didn't we have this yesterday? He wanted to complain, but thought better of it. Instead, he walked over to a table occupied by a teacher and a student both working on their desks.

"You mind if I sit here?" He asked the young boy.

"If you want to," said the boy, not really acknowledging Feets' presence.

"Thanks," said Feets, taking a chair. He began eating, and noticed that Dragoon was over talking with Frenchy. No doubt it's all about our new "Toon Strategy." Feets knew that Dragoon was likely to end up as the toon leader, or at least the second. In the battle room, it had been most evident, because while Feets possessed more skill, Dragoon had the abilities to truly take command of a group.

He'd also noticed the continuing bond in friendship between Dragoon and Frenchy. There had been a few scuffles with Fly and her posse a few times in the past couple months, and Feets had been there to help Dragoon, but it seemed that Frenchy was always in the fray as well.

Slowly Feets was noticing a gap. While Dragoon was always his friend and never did anything to break Feets' faith in him, he was seeing that while Feets was just another of the soldiers, Dragoon was the one who was being asked questions. "How can I do this, or how can I do that?" Feets was slightly jealous, but wasn't surprised when Dragoon was named Toon Second.

"Excuse me," said the boy next to Feets.

"Huh?" said Feets, returning to reality.

"Can I ask you something?"

Who is this kid? "Umm...sure."

"You're in Manticore, right?"

"Yeah."

"I've seen you in the Battle Room a few times. You're awesome."

"Thanks," said Feets smiling. "But did you want to ask me somthin'?"

"Oh yeah," said the boy. "Could you help me?"

"What?"

"Well, you look like someone fair. I've never really been too good in the Battle Room, but I thought if I got some help, I could get better."

"Look," said Feets. "I don't even know who you are."

"Ammon. My name's Ammon Millers."

"Alright, Ammon, I can't really help you out because I'm in a different army than you."

"Alright, fine." Ammon was quiet. Feets continued to eat.

"Huh, well..." Dragoon began, pausing uncertainly. He had hoped that Frenchy would have some ideas for him to elaborate upon. He was, after all, the toon leader. But, no, that title had not magically placed ideas in Frenchy's head. Dragoon would actually have to work.

He pondered the matter for a moment longer before remembering something from practice.

"One thing I tried in our little mock-battle was taking the flashes from frozen soldiers. That seemed to work okay, but I think it would have been better if I was actually a decent marksman with my left hand. Maybe we could work on that and eventually rack up double firepower," Dragoon offered.

Frenchy thought about it for a moment.
"Yeah, I think it's a good idea. You should be the one to work on that, since you're the one that had the idea... Mines are just about, well, speed. Yeah yeah, I know it sounds weird, but see, I think I can just teach what I know.

We can't try to be the most powerful toon, that's up to toon A, I guess. So I thought we should be the fastest. I had the idea to split the toon in three, then we could move around, jumping, evading, making the ennemy crazy, we had to improve our speed in the battle room. We've got to improve it a lot trying to be so fast that they can't touch us... Yes, we'd be worse at shooting, but while we did that we'd have more opportunities to evade all the attacks, and try to shoot. And the way to control the three "teams" that'd be just about three people each one, could be to call them A, or B, or C. And then say like, North it's 1, Sout it's 2. So, we'd just have to shout "A2!" and the team A'd go south.
Anyway, it's just my first idea, what d'ya think?"

Njeri grabbed some bland slop from the line. Probably the only thing she missed about Zimbabwe was the food. Her mouth watered for a second, remembering her grandmother's cooking.

But remembering her grandmother opened up a whole set of problems she'd rather not think about, so she put the concept out of her mind.

Making her way through the crowd, she saw the commander sitting at a nearbye table. She pushed her way through to him. "Mind if I join you, sir?"

Ronin watched both Frenchy and Dragoon from a couple of tables ahead. He wanted to know what they were saying, but he couldn't just go and sit with them, it would be pathetic.
Well, they must be just talking about useless tactics that won't work... it's better that I don't hear them, I'd laugh too much.
He looked at his food, and tried to eat a little. He wanted to spit it instantly, but he knew this was all he'd get to eat until the midday, and there'd be a battle between, so he swallowed against his desires and looked around. There were two boys sitting in the same table, just next to him, and talking about something that Ronin didn't cared about.

They might just be what I need... They don't look strong, but they don't seem smart neither...

One of them was Robert, a tall kid from South America, of course, veryone called him Bob, but he usually called himself Bert, and he thought it was the most funny thing in the world.
The other one was Net, the origin of his name was his obsession with search all kind of weird things with his desk, and they said he was some sort of a hacker. Really, he wasn't much better than any other kid with a computer.

"Hey, guys!" he called them. They both looked at him with a look of surprise. Ronin knew he had to try to look nice to gain people's respect, just some times... At least, he'll do it this time.
"What do you want, Ronin?" answered Bob.
Net's the intelligent one, but he's the one that never speaks, too... This will be easy...
"You're in my toon, right? With that French guy as leader."
"Um... yeah. Frenchy."
"Have you seen who's his second?"
"It's Dragoon, right? What's wrong with him?"
"Haven't you seen it? He's just a kid!"
Net looked up from his food.
"Well, we're all..."
"He's like a baby!" continued Ronin trying to stop Net from ending his sentence.
Bob watched Dragoon and Frenchy, still talking a few meters ahead.
"Well, he do seems little, but..."
"And he is toon secon, and you're not." said Ronin with a roguish smile in his face.

Dragoon considered the suggestion.

"I like the two subtoons," he replied. "But I don't think we can limit commands simply to two directions. We'd have to give each wall a letter and combine them for relative directions. For example, the enemy wall is north, and the right wall when we first come in is east. A forward-right command to subtoon A would be 'ASR'. You see what I mean?"

Dragoon stirred his bowl of mushy grainlike subtance, forcing down a bite.

"Yeah, of course, more directions give more capacity to command them... I guess we'll have to see how are the other ones, hope they don't get cocky cause we are small kids." He laughed. He was nervous. Very nervous, his nervousness was putting his mind in blank. He saw his hand shaking a bit when he begun to eat the "food".

Can I really do this? I know I can't control people well if I don't like them... What if the men in my toon hate me? I won't be able to control myself... And I can't make Dragoon do all the work. Aww, I really hope I know what I'm doing...

Nero half walked half ran into the mess. He looked around at the tables where Manticore soldiers were sitting and stood in front of them, thankfully they were sitting close together, he didn't have much time to gather them.

"MANTICORE! ATTENTION!" He shouted over the din of the room. He looked at them all seriously, commanding their attention. "Five minutes ago we were issued orders for a battle. This battle is one month before there should be a battle at all, and even though it starts in less than twenty minutes-- we. will. not. be. late." He said this solemnly and seriously. "Being late for a battle is twice as irresponsible as being late for a practice and thought they are throwing us through a loop we will be prepared. All of you drop whatever you're doing and be assembled at the front door of the battle room in ten minutes." He turned to leave, he had a hundred things to do before the battle and only a few minutes to do them, "I don't mean to rush you but hurry and try to keep a clear head-- DISMISSED!"

"Huh? Battle? Now?" said Frenchy standing up, but the commander had already left. He looked back at Dragoon, trying to find help in his look, to see if he was as scared as Frenchy was. He had already finished his breakfast, so he took his tray and hurried to the exit. He came back quick suddenly.
"Sorry! Um... Are you coming?"

***

"Yeah! A Battle!" shouted Bob as if it was the better day in all his life. Net had said nothing, he was still eating his food, without even trying to be fast.
"Hey, a month before? This cannot be..." said Ronin looking to the ground.
"Don't worry, Ronin! We'll beat them to the ground! You'll see..."
"Okay, I hope so."
Net stood up, he had finished. "Let's go." he said with a calm voice.

Demos had been brewing about the whole Cross Nero thing. He went through the line and managed a smile for the lunch lady though, he always tried to be polite to her, she always seemed to be in a really bad mood. He moved down the line and was about to sit down when Curt ran up to him and threw his tray away. He looked at him helplessly as the biohazard of a food substance flew into the trash can. "What the heck was that for?" he said defeated, his stomach grumbling loudly. "We're having a battle, Nero announced it in the barracks and I didn't know if the people in the Mess heard. Come one Demos we need to get outta here okay?" He tugged Demos on the arm, leading him toward the door, a midget taking control of a giant.

Just then he saw Frenchy whiz by in a hurry over back to Dragoon. If he was going to be drug to the barracks, Frenchy might as well too. "Come on guys, it's time to go!" He said grabbing the boy by the sleeve as he hesitated waiting for Dragoon. "Dragoon hurry and catch up!" Demos didn't have a toon but it was obvious that he would had certain people not shown up, nonetheless he did have a natural sort of authority. "Ronin, Net, Bob, there's no time for chit chat let's go." With that Curt shook Demos one last time and they jogged toward the barracks with fury.

Njeri joined them at the table. "Good question. Especially since we now know Tide's commander was trying to infiltrate Griffin." Which made the situation personal. She didn't want to say it in front of Lenny, but she wasn't at all sure she liked the idea of the younger girl going in alone. If nothing else, she might suggest to Mordrid that she or Mandrake - or both - follow at a discreet distance, to give backup if needed.

Speaking of... where was Mandrake, anyway? Njeri realized she hadn't seen him all morning. No matter; she'd see him in class later, she was sure.

(OOC - if we hurry, we can probably catch Zuni at Asp Barracks! Two enemy commanders for the price of one!)

(OOC - not to mention Puck hates Griffins and Griffins hate Puck. But let's give it a sec before barging into Asp, ok? I'm really trying to get this plot moving, and constant interruptions = bad!)

Njeri nodded, dropped her fork into the remainder of her tasteless meal, and started walking out, not bothering to throw her tray away.

(OOC - ew! Now I'm mad at my own character! I hate people who won't throw away their own garbage!)

Rachel watched with a minuscule grin as Sue hurriedly left the table with Kyle following not far behind. She'd wait for several more to leave before confronting Amman. Drea sat with a disgruntled look on his face and she couldn't keep back a short barked laugh.

Life is only going to get worse for you my little precious.

After patiently waiting for most of the army to thing out, mainly those seated around Ammon Rachel left her seat and found herself sitting next to young ammon. She faced him straddling the bench and sat very close. She would have to be very careful with what she said and how she said it to this little bugger. Drea had told her some about him when he first joined their toon. He was a smart little computer wiz it seemed but if she kept this just enough boring he may not know what he has done until it was finished. She leaned over his shoulder looking at his desk, "Whatchya doin?"

Ammon had not noticed Rachel until she was right next to him. "Whatchya doin?" She said.

Ammon quickly tapped ZXC on his keypad, shutting off all the programs on the desktop. He had already set the program to automatically save his work every ten seconds, so nothing was lost. "Just a little work," he replied. "Do you need something?"

Rachel wanted to smack the smaller kid in the back of the head. She was his second! He needed to be taught a little respect but there would be time for that later. The brief thought of not being the toon leader made it even harder not to strike the boy. Instead she put on an innocent smile, first things first.

"I might. I was talking to Drea about you earlier today. Its no secret that you are a wiz with your desk, I never see you without it. Anyways, I was wanting to pull a little prank on a friend of mine. How hard would it be, or is it even possible to send an email as a joke addressed from someone else? I couldn't figure it out short of stealing Jus... my friends logon password. Just a harmless little prank is all I had in mind. Do you think you could help?"

Rachel held her smile, she couldn't tell what Ammon would do from his expression. He had no reason to expect anything so everything should go smoothly.

Alright you little twirp, don't disappoint me.

Let's see, password crack. Or I could do it with a puzzle-path through the security system, blocking off... His thoughts broke as he saw that Rachel was still staring at him.

"There's a number of ways to do it. The simplest would be just using my cracking software to bust his pass. There's no real problem there, but the risk of the faculty finding out is higher.

"However," he said, smiling. "If I use a puzzle path, and just splice in through the army's security coding, then I can be in and out without hardly a trace."

He was mostly doing his thinking out loud. He then looked at his toon second. "What's in it for me?"

Rachel's grinned broadened. Had Ammon just blurted out that he had password cracking software? The kid seemed to zone out when thinking about computer codes. Maybe faced with a challenge this kid would oblivious to what he was doing, useful tool.

Whats in it for you? I am your superior.

Rachel sighed lightly and leaned a little closer to him. "Like I said, its just a little prank. Not much benefit in it for either of us other than a good laugh. If you don't want to do it then I understand. All you have to do is say so." Rachel paused, she had to be careful here. Not giving him a chance to speak she went on. "I mean, I just think it would be fun to do. No one would know you had anything to do with it," she lied. She stood up stopping and turning before walking away. "Email me your answer," she giggled. With that she started back for the barracks.

"Email me your answer," said Rachel. She walked away.

Ammon looked after her, but decided not to follow. What does she mean? He closed down his desk. Just a good laugh? Does she think I'm stupid? There's got to be more than that going on. Ammon picked up his desk, leaving his tray on the table. Let the workers clean it up. Ammon walked out of the Mess, headed for the library.

Reb burst into the Mess Hall, though with all the people there eating, it didn't make much of an impression. Grinning to himself, he made his way to the end of the line and waited for the others to join him.

As Reb and some of the tothers followed him into the lunch line, Pits immediately walked to the rankings board.
He looked up and saw that he was too short to reach the top, even though he was rather tall himself. He pulled a small table from near by, and placed it under the rankings.
Pits picked up his mural and the tape, he stood up on the table and unrolled the mural to show his painting of a sphinx flying through the sky. The sky was in honor of his toon, Horus, god of the sky. At the top was written in big Golden letters []i" Welcome To The 8th Wonder of the World...SPYINX ARMY!" Pits was happy with his little sign, the IF officials would understand why he did this. So they'd get off his back about the way he wrore his sleeves tied around his waist, and his signs on his shirt's. He quickly ripped some pieces of tape off with one hand, which alone by it's self s hard to do with one hand. " Finito! Je fin! It is done!" Pits yelled as he jumped off the table and walked over to his friend Reb. " Yo Reb, what u thinks?" Pits asked as he stood and marveled at his work.

Tex crossed his arms and stroked his chin, as if he was admiring a masterpiece in a museum.

"Looks great. I especially love the inventive spelling of Sphinx there. Wonder how long it will last up there" He grinned as he looked around at the other diners. Already some of them were whispering and pointing at the sign and Reb just couldn't help but laugh. "Come on, let's get us some chicken nuggets" he said as he picked up a tray.

Orbit walked into the mess hall. Ahhh gotta love the smell of imitation nuggets. Orbit looked over to the score board and laughed. The sphinx banner was there. He actually did it.

Orbit got in line, still laughing to his self.

Reb grinned in false malice as he got his serving of food. As he grabbed the tray and headed for their usual table, he taunted Pits.

"You just watch out Pits or you might find those Nuggets not so appetizing." He nodded his head towards the milk that was on Pits' tray. "You might just find yourself eating 'Cream of Nugget' soup"

Reb gestured to the rest of the table.

"It's Sphinx's table, you're welcome to sit where you want. See it was claimed a while ago." he pointed to a spot on the table where Sphinx had been scratched in by another soldier. "Don't know who did it though." He said as he looked conspiringly at Pits.

Chance and Cherry walked into the mess hall. It was the usual hussle and bussle. They made their way to the table where Reb, Orbit, and Pits were already sitting. Chance never got food, so neither did Cherry.

The younger girl looked at the boys' chicken nuggets. "Those are chicken nuggets?"

Chance held back a laugh. The little girl still wasn't used to the constant school food.
