This is prolly really old news but since I am a newb to the forums I will ask anyway. I was reading osc.com and it said the book Enders Game is being made into a film...If this is true holy crap I cant wait!! Someone dont prove me wrong.

You found this out at OSC.com, eh? Hmmm...
Posted by gantman (Member # 5258) on :
Yup, but I did a yahoo search and oddly enough there were a lot of sites saying that too...and the kid from phantom menace was Ender
Posted by kwsni (Member # 1831) on :
::sigh:: No, no young actor you know of will be playing ender, because the movie won't be made for a while. Neither Jake Lloyd or Haley Joe Osmont will be playing ender.
Ni!

Could there be a better book to base a movie on?

So you really mean it was from www.hatrack.com in the About Orson Scott Card section...
www.frescopix.com <-- look here for an old update..

well yes now that i see this you are correct ^_^

Wow, the two pictures in that bio are really similar. Unless you're one of Clark Kent's co-workers, in which case, they look TOTALLY different.

Can you tell which picture was taken in Kansas and which was taken in Oz?

Morpheus... That's me being sarcastic. I love the Ender and Shadow serie's. OSC's books have changed the way I look at the world. As I'm sure you know, there's a lot more to be taken from one of his books than just a story.
Posted by keleeumc (Member # 5267) on :
In a way i hope that they don't turn any of the ender books into a film. I'm afraid they would ruin the book like so many other book to movie transitions have done before. I like the book the way it is and if it were converted to a movie sure I'd go watch it but not sure if it would be anywhere as good as the book.
Posted by gantman (Member # 5258) on :
yeah but they did a good job on the lord of the rings....though they missed some cool points and everyone knows the book is always better than the movie...for example jurassic park
Posted by Josh W (Member # 5253) on :
You're are correct Gantman. There is a whole lot that The Lord of the Rings movie does not include. However, can you imagine the length of time the movie would take to really portray the whole book. Sadly, most good books that make it to film are all chopped up. Some of you may now Clancy, his stories are a prime example. I often find that most book --> movies are a big let down. But non the less, The Lord of the Rings is one of the best movies I've ever seen. I'm sure Ender's Game will be a great movie, but us here and a select group of others are going to be the minority who can truly relate to the story line.
Posted by gantman (Member # 5258) on :
Yes but who really cares what the rest of the ppl think. Just cause they cant relate to this type of movie doesnt mean it should not be made. I have read that his books have sold world wide in prolly every language u cant think of, so why not make a movie out of it, for all i can guess it will be big not as big as LOTR but none the less it should be done

Maybe we can get Bill Gates spend some of his dough to finance it...I am sure us "nerds" as my friend called me would be extremely happy he did it Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :
<grin>I'm sure Gates would get some good press for investing in movies. Headlines: "Gates moves his media monopoly into movies", "Gates expands to control all American intrests", "Gates is an evil bugger". <grin> I love poking fun at people who seem to think Bill Gates is one step worse than the devil, thanks for the oppurtunity.
*psst*As I reread this I realize I should delete it, but now that I've written I'm just putting in a disclaimer that I don't think that you were demonizing Gates.
Hobbes Posted by Salaam (Member # 5239) on :
reminds me of the simpsons episode where Homer thinks Bill Gates wants to buy his company when in reality Bill has his goons destroy Homer's computer and website.

I doubt OSC would want Bill Gates to be even remotely involved in the Ender's Game movie. He has written a few times that he thinks Gates is of a bad sort.

Hmmm, I don't remember that but I believe it. Gates might not be the Devil but he certainly isn't an Angel either.
