Welcome. What chat did you try to use? Nobody really uses parachat, but we *do* hang out on the AIM chat room "hatrack chat".

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :
You have to use AIM (AOL Instant Messenger).

Welcome. It's always so sad welcoming a new member in. To think of all the trolls that are waiting to descend on him, ready to burninate and flame him.
Barak_Israel, I hope you have thick skin. Cause the trolls around here are fierce. I'll do my best to ward them off; they've gotten used to me, and know not to mess when I'm around.

Ignore Phanto; this is his standard shpiel. Never figured out why. Maybe he was dropped on his head as a child.

You see? There they go, burning me!

Jaime, why do you ask?
Posted by Loial (Member # 5788) on :
rivka, can you at least see the Hebrew letters (on my post)?
Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :
Yup. And I've considered emailing myself the aleph-bet (from work) and using that to cut-and-paste. But that would be a major pain.

Went looking for a virtual Hebrew keyboard. No luck.
And while I can download Hebrew fonts (and already have some, too), I can't get them to work right in Word. Posted by Armoth (Member # 4752) on :
I always used the program "Davka" to type in hebrew letters - I didnt know that hebrew could be used in so many places. You know what it might be? you can get "languages" for windows xp, I think you can type in hebrew anywhere with that...

I don't currently have Davka, although it's on the list of programs I'd like to get. I'll have to figure out if I'm missing a Windows Hebrew module -- I think you might be right on that. I have 98, though. Maybe THAT's the problem! Posted by AvidReader (Member # 6007) on :
Barak,
Don't let Phanto fool you. People wait in line and pay a shiny dime to get burninated. It's an honor.
To get the joke, you want to go to Homestar and click on sb_email. Go to the one called dragon. It's frickin hilarious. You too will find yourself screaming "And the dragon comes in the night" with your friends. It's good stuff.
