This probably isn't a new question, however I will ask. Is there any ever (no matter how remote) of writing a sequel to "The Worthing Saga"? I mean I think that was one of the best books I have ever read. I completely enjoyed it from start to finish. I thought it ended a bit quick, but thats why I thirst for a more of the story. Orson, PLEASE tell us there is more to come from this interesting story.

Thanks!

Neil

I'm gonna guess a no on this one. Worthing Saga was a collection of short stories wound together into a single book with a fill-in type story, I don't know if OSC has finished telling the Worthing stories, but it seemed to me like it's a finished work.

Its also like the third or fourth one of its kind. Its actually a remake of Capital, Hotsleep, and the Worthing Chronicals or legacy or something like that.

I understand the origins of the book, however that doesn't mean that another collection of short stories or a ground up novel isn't in the works on OSC's mind [Smile]

Thanks,

Neil

yeah, Hot Sleep elaborates on the exploits of Abner and Jason

It would be sweet if OSC made a book showing how Abner Doon got all his power.

Don't laugh but I listened to this book on Audio. It was pretty good, but I didn't realize there were a bunch of stories after the book. I was a little put off when I learned that the story was over but another 6 hours (1/3rd) of the audio listening wasn't the story. I was expecting and wanting more!
I am listening to the stories now and they are very good. I didn't catch the title of this one but I am half way through it and it's about Abner...

Thanks,

Neil

[Wave] I'll second that. A book specifically about Abner and his life would be amazing although it may not be as separate from WS as the Bean books are from the Ender ones. Call me morbid but I would like to see the final chapters surrounding the collapse of Capitol as well.

Saga is definantly my favorite Card book.

(Goes off in search of the now coverless copy and sighs when locating it, as if whole again.)

If there were readers of the Worthing Saga other than those on this thread, a sequel might be commercially viable ...

The truth is, though, that I don't actually want to take the time and effort to develop the Capitol society so deeply that I can make an interesting story out of a more detailed account of Abner's machinations ...

Understandable...
