In Xenocide its a topic brought up often. Is it an actual science term and fact, or is it just yet more fiction?

Phylotic Connections have some similarities to quantum entanglement, but it's basically sci-fi.

Certainly no communication devices have been made using quantum entanglement, like the ansible uses phylotic connections for instant communication over light years.

It's generally believed that communication using QE is impossible, though of course a future breakthrough could discover a loophole.

Some people at Hatrack have said that phylotic connections are similar to some parts of Mormon philosophy, but you'd have to ask Card or another Mormon about that, beats me.
