Check out this joker selling copies of OSC's MP3 books on Ebay.

Aren't there laws against this? Does anyone know how to report it? Looking at his feedback it seems that he has sold these before.

The guy's Ebay ID is really tasteful too. Something tells me this guy doesn't have a lot of class.

Sick him, Hatrack, sick him!

30 copies of each. Looks like he's doing this to a lot of people besides OSC, too. Did you read his feedback???

eBay has a page to report such things, which I just did.

ah -- but it would have been much more fun to have OSC whip up on him first!

I don't understand what's wrong? Is it like he's file sharing? If he's not then he must have bought the audio books, right?

I think this comment explains why this might be a problem.

That would be funny if OSC emailed the guy directly. Although I doubt he would really think it was OSC. Hopefully his auctions will be down shortly...

SeeingHand -- he's taken the original audio books and copied them to mp3 format, over and over. It clearly says he is selling COPIES of the original.

The pages are no longer accesible. I'm betting this means that the auctions were shut down.

While OSC doesn't truck with the RIAA on the harm of file sharing, it isn't okay for someone else to make money off stealing an artist's work. I think there is also some issue with OSC's work being partly owned by publishers and them having some rights. And if it is an audio book, the book is itself a performance of which OSC's writing is the script.

Our library checks out e-audio-books now. Too bad I could never figure out how to use the text e-books.
