My mother says I have a problem with obsessing over things. Such as ... oh I don't know ... reading. Well, God bless their souls, one of my friends and my aunt and uncle all got me Barnes & Nobles gift cards for Christmas. So I just bought "Enchantment" and "The Worthing Saga". And "The Art of War", but that's beside the point. The point is that I will now commence obsessively reading Orson Scott Card literature. And this thread has no point other than jubiliation at the fact that I have at least 3 days worth of good books ahead of me. And also, I would like to offer my utmost gratitude to my aunt and uncle and friend, and above all, to the wonderful Mr. Card.

I applaud your dedication to reading.

I too have been accused of this crime, but I pleaded insanity. I was sentenced to never bring books to familly gatherings, but I'm on parole for good behaviour. [Big Grin]

That's obsessing? Ha!

I got 12 books for Christmas. I then used gift cards to buy seven more.

What's worse is that I've finished almost all of them. And still had time for outings with friends and dates with my boyfriend.

Damn!! How fast do you read Black Mage?

yeah, seriously! I thought I was good, finishing Enders Game in 6 hours, plus a nap ... 17 books in almost 11 days is pretty crazy. Not a bad thing ... not a bad thing at all.

Sounds like something I would do. When I was ten I read 8 full length novels in one 24 hour period. I'm not normally THAT intense, but I've been known to read 3 books a day when I could. Even when I can't, I still read 3-4 a week.

I don't read fast, I don't think. I read concentrated, more.

I mean I don't register it as any kind of speed. It just packs itself right in in larger doses.

Black Mage when was the last time you were in the sunshine? [Wink]

I got me a deep tan, mate. I spend a lot of time reading outdoors, or jogging, or hanging out in the park with my friends.

Good. Wait, does that mean your not a white skinned, red eyed albino?

Sorry about that, I was thinking of that jerk Shawshank. [Big Grin]
