I picked up a hardback copy of A Planet Called Treason at the used bookstore in my town. The book looks brand new, its as if it was never read. It was in great shape. And $3.50 is a very cheap price.

The cool thing is that it is the original 1979 hardcover. I was having a, "Gee wiz, I'm so darn lucky," moment. (Except multiply the excitement by 23)

Wait are we on ebay or Hatrack? [Confused]

I'm not selling unless I get an outrageously large bid.

Posted by GaalDornick (Member # 8880) on :

They actually have one for $4 on ebay right now.

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

I paid less than that. I laugh at them!

Just wondering, but was A Planet Callled Treason Card's first published novel, or was Hot Sleep before that?

7 thousand dollars!

This is why I don't use ebay much, I can get caught up in the moment.

I bought it at a library book sale for less, and it was the original cover. Meh.

I say "meh" once more.

And faugh!

Well...uh... Well, I got Ender's Game for a quarter at my local library branch! Uh...

That's all I got. Way to go, Steve!

Your library must be fools to have sold an OSC book for less than $20.00

One-billionths of a dollar! Top that Dr. Evil. Ha!

Posted by Black Mage (Member # 5800) on :

Advent, I'm afraid that's a single billionth. Drop the S.

Posted by SteveRogers (Member # 7130) on :

How about one billion and not a fraction?

Posted by Advent 115 (Member # 8914) on :

It was a joke, it meant I would give Steve less than a penny. I wondered how quickly someone would catch on to that fact, so good eye Steve.

Haahahahahahahhahahahah!!!!

Oh..... I crack myself up. Okay real bid is $5.00

Yeah I picked up a used pack of the the enders series(EG, Speaker, Xenocide, and COTM) for $4.50. at a price like that I couldnt pass it up, and they're in great condition apart from the fact that the cover of enders game fell off, as in it just detached from the book but is still in good condition, and i just got done guling it this morning.
Wow now I feel like im describing something for an auction on Ebay.

Hardcover "very good" condition of Lost Boys for $4.00 in Fall 2004 at my local bookstore. Woot.

... wondering if he came to the right site... this isnt ebay is it?

Posted by Omega M. (Member # 7924) on :

Yes, old OSC books are pretty easy to find on the Internet. That's how I got Hot Sleep, A Planet Called Treason, the rewritten Treason, and Maps in a Mirror (before it was reprinted with a new cover).

Kind of random, but isn't it weird how most common items are replaced by brand names?

e.g.
bandages - band-aid
tissue - kleenex
online auction - ebay
computer - PC (as opposed to a mac, or does this not count? PC means personal computer, but from what ive heard of it, doesnt it mean windows?)

Posted by WntrMute (Member # 7556) on :

PC means Wintel (that is to say Windows running on an Intel CPU), and MAC means Apple.
However, this is confusing since you can run Linux on an AMD CPU and it is still called a PC, and the new Mac's will be running on an Intel CPU themselves.
