In Prentice Alvin, it says that Measure's oldest son's name is Jeremiah. (p. 336 in my edition, about the middle of Chapter 21) However in Alvin Journeyman, it says that Measure's oldest is named Simon. (p. 50, end of Chapter 3) I guess this is probably just a minute detail forgotten over the course of writing the series.

I am currently working on a Tales of Alvin Maker family tree and noticed this while I was putting together the tree.

was it his oldest son, or the oldest living with him?

Simon's a better name, let's go with that one. [Wink]

Also, I believe in Crystal City (may have been Heartfire) that it said that Alvin and Peggy's first child that died was a boy, but it was already said that it was a girl.
Oh well, nobody is perfect.

Lets not forget the fact that kids often died in those days. However, what I found odd was that in Alvin Maker the twins were already picking out wives, but then later on it sounds like they had just barely gotten married.

What's odd about that?
