I just managed to put up the 27 dollars and purchase it. So far i think its been real good. It even tells us there's gonna be another full Pastwatch novel [Big Grin] . I think i liked Maps in a mirror a little better, but i just started Keeper. Anyone else get it?

Actually, I had a brief moment of terror looking through it when I thought he hadn't included afterwards, but then I realized I was just an idiot.

I don't know how I feel about another Pastwatch novel - I suppose I ought to have some faith, but it that seems like one of those concepts where returning to the same well would merely diminish the value of the first one. I hope I'm wrong though.

I haven't got KoD yet.

I'm currently re-reading The Worthing Saga. Not my favorite OSC, but as I was reading it, I remembered how much I loved the short story "Skipping Stones". What a great ending that one had.

He bought the painting. It fell to pieces before he died.

So far, my favorites are "Atlantis" and "Space Boy", but I'm only halfway through. It's very fun.

Card wrote two stories for the 2005 anthology "Stories of Strength" (profits to help victims of Katrina).

The two short stories were "Let No Hands Be Idle Here" and "The Best Day".

Does anyone know why these two stories were not included in Keeper of Dreams?

I don't know about "Let No Hands Be Idle Here" but I think "The Best Day" was a reprint, and the story was in Maps in a Mirror.

How thick is "Keeper of Dreams"... just wondering because it seems like "Spaceboy" itself would take up quite a bit of space, and he usually includes more than six or seven stories...

It's over 600 pages.

But the print isn't as small as Maps.

Jsut received the book as a gift. I was happily suprised to find "Homeless in Hell" among the many stories. It being one of my favorites in terms of short stories, beaten on by "Prior Restraint" and a few others.
