Personally I'm glad he's coming to Louisville, Lexington, etc. etc. Because I may actually be able to make it to one of those places. It's a bit of a drive, but then I drive an hour every day to work so 2 or 3 hours isn't too much worse. [Razz]

Hey, BannaOJ, can I make up part of that carpool? At least if the signing is during the school year...

I found this by following a few links off of the home page, but no, it isn't on hatrack directly. And I guess I lied, the dates aren't up, only a few of the locations are. [Embarrassed]

AJ, Hobbes, I so want that to work out!

Hmm...selling the region...hmmm...

Indianapolis is along the way between Louisville and Dayton if you go 65N to 70E. That would break the trip into two shorter driving days. Indy has a P. F. Chang's (was that on the list of acceptable travel food stops?) which is part of Circle Center (yay! shopping). Meaning you can go from dinner to a movie in a decent theater without having to go outside.

Oh, and soon there will be a Hobbes near by. If that isn't a good selling point, I don't know what is! [Big Grin]

Posted by BannaOj (Member # 3206) on :

Doesn't Indy also have Cheeseburger in Paradise? We wanted to stop there on the way through last time, but the road construction detour went the wrong way.

ATTENTION Mr. Card: [Hail] [Hail]

Please consider adding St. Louis MO to your list of places to visit. I know that we can offer you several advantages over these other places.

1) Free room in my spare bedroom.
2) All the Ramen noodles, Mac & Cheese, and Hotdogs that I have will be served to you at your convience.
3) We will allow you unlimited acces to the internet, specifically Hatrack, so you can post here saying how wonderful of a host we are.
4) Cash. I won't go into how much, but we are definately talking something in the double digits here. Heck, I might be willing to go as high as, well, $18.73

To BannaOJ and all the others who are interested in the Dayton Ohio signing. I LIVE in Dayton. I have met OSC three times for book signings here. It will be at a place called Books and Co. in a suburb of Dayton called Kettering. I am so going to be there. I am going to invite him and his wife to the OrneryCon III to be held next June.

If you are all in town let me know. There is a Damons ribs just a minutes walk from the book store where we could meet for munchies after the session.

Now the only thing bad I can see is if he is in town on Dec. 17. That is the day that ROTK opens. If he is here that day I might have to miss the signing.

I hope to see him in L.A., but I realize that November is going to be an eventful month for us, so it may not be feasible depending on the dates. There aren't many to whom Scott takes a back seat, but my wife and kid(s) are certainly among them.

We don't know. The site itself is here.

Your right Celia, it does seem that OSC should come to Vigor Church (or where it would be) for the release of this book at least (as compared to an Ender book). And if he doesn't have control over where he goes then...well I don't know what he should do because I just lost intrest. [Razz] [Wink] [Wink] [Razz]

Prague is beautiful. Everyone wants to come to Prague. You've been here before so you know your constitution can stand it. [Smile] I can think of at least one important person who would come to an OSC signing in Prague. We can give you the notorious historical-perspective tour. You can drink hot chocolate so thick your spoon stands up at Cafe Louvre. I'd get all my friends to [The Wave] , which is surely worth the trip.

He might sign your hip, Ralphie -- he signed Mooselet's diaper while Mooselet was still wearing it....

We're due November 14th, so it'll be close. The signing (if at Vroman's again) is more than an hour away from the hospital, though, so Mama almost definitely can't be there. I'd really like to make it, though. This tour is extra special somehow.

Hey Kristine, while you are talking with those publicity people you should tell them that Tucson is a wonderful place to go, especially in the latter months of the year! Frankly its one of the best times to visit. There are lots of great restaurants around here too [Wink]

Ok Indiana and Chicago jatraqueros, we need to figure out if this is feasible.

DAYTON, OH—November 20th
Books and Company
350 East Stroop Road — 7:00 PM

CINCINNATI, OH—November 21st
Barnes & Noble
7800 Montgomery Road — 7:00 PM

The 21st is a Friday. This would be better for me and I'm guessing for most of you. It is approximately the same distance from Indianapolis to Cinci as it is to Dayton.

I could take a 1/2 day off of work and arrive at about the time the signing started. I could pick up people in Chicago and/or W. Lafayette and/or Indianapolis on the way, though it would be nice if we could meet somewhere near the freeway to expedite things. I have a 7 seat mini van though one of the seats is for me, and another would be for Steve if he wants to come on another of my crazy expeditions. We would probably want to make overnight arrangements somewhere. I'm all for something like Motel 6 getting one or two rooms and people bringing sleeping bags to crash on the floor.

Btw I hope Uncle Orson survives such a grueling tour schedule. While it will be fun for us fans it looks pretty miserable for the author.

I'm putting this in this thread but also going to start a thread specifically for this expedition.

Last time around, I went to both the dayton signing and the cincinnati signing. I had a lot more books to sign then so I took half to the first and half to the second. This time, I dont hardly have as many books to sign and will probably only go to the cincinati one. For those coming from the west, keep in mind that the cincinnati one is on the east side of cincinnati.

It is about a 15 minute drive from my work, so ill probably go straight from work to the store. Last year, he was there early talking with a class from a local school. I know they were trying to have a private question and answers discussion group. We were only able to listen. But I hope to see any one of you there. Though, I think Im way more intimidated in person then online.
