Since it's a gorgeous evening (at least here in rural Pennsylvania) and since i'm in a listless, lonesome mood, I have decided to organize an impromptu gathering of Hatrackers from every corner of the globe...have a little shin-dig outside. Dance a jig. Twirl and spin. Kick your knees up, step in time! If it's not of the night persuasion in your neck of the woods, or stars aren't easy to come by, just make-believe here in your very own, custom-made DutS thread!

It would make my night [Smile]

Leonide, are you sure you are not a member of the Church of Universal Love and Music? It is, after all, in Pennsylvania.

It is a beautiful night for sure.

It's a beautiful night here, too. The moon is full and bright and the sky is clear. I think I shall indulge in a little nostalgia and go outside to enjoy the moonlight. And dance, of course. [Smile]

(does a little dancing)

(comes back inside)

Ryuko,
I do not believe you actually went ouside to dance. I think you sat right there in your computer chair and typed "(does a little dancing)."

I would like photographic proof from all of you.

That smilie dance icon does not count, either.

The Church of Universal Love and Music does not accept its members lightly. They must dance the dance.

;_; I did, though... (sad)

You must have the proper music:

How 'bout a little bit, a little bit of moonlight dancin'
underneath the starry sky?
How 'bout a little bit, a little bit of moonlight dancin'?
Just the moon and you and I.
Mmm, just the moon and you and I.
Moonlight dancin', mmm, moonlight dancin'.

Bette Midler - Moonlight Dancing (a very good song)

I went to look for the moon. I couldn't find it. I did a dance anyway. It was the best dance ever.

I'm too sad to dance - I just read the Lost Boys. Someone do a dance for me, please?

Its too bad the moons going to be full during the peak of ther Perseid meteor shower. (still worth looking outside the 12th and 13th for all of you who dont keep up on this sort of thing)

For me? [Cry] [Smile]

*Tucks rose in hair behind ear, gathers skirts and whirls out into the beautiful night, joining the merry revelers around her*

(Edited to ad: would you still have given me a rose, filleted, if you had already known I just stole the last post from you? [Razz] )

(((Shan)))

It's not bad here tonight. The clouds have cleared up, so I can actually see the stars. It's hot and humid, but that's nothing new.

So...

Oh, by all means, let's be traditional - you lead -

*laughs with pleasure and sends a final farewell to all the lost boys*

*carries Shan (and skirts) into the midst of the revelers*

whispered aside, "be light, miss. the knees aren't what they used to be."

Leonide, is the band still playing? (I can hum a tune, but not all that well)

Posted by Shan (Member # 4550) on :

I can sing. Or, I could pull out my trusty baroque recorder and some lovely renaissancy-type music could nicely compliment the stars and moon . . . ?

Flish draws the rose from behind his ear, touches the tip of shan's dozing nose with it and asks,

Beatiful night here, and I went to a lovely wedding today--a friend from high school got married and now I feel old. Spinning beneath the stars might make me feel normal (well, normal for me, anyway). [Smile]

[edit: I was going to correct the spelling error in the first word. But "beatiful" works, if I'm dancing. [Big Grin] ]

Leo - Stop being so stinking cute. [No No]

Lusti - See, if you're going to dance under the stars to music, it MUST be to Van Morrison.

Well, it's a marvelous night for a Moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
'Neath the cover of October skies
And all the leaves on the trees are falling
To the sound of the breezes that blow
And I'm trying to please to the calling
Of your heart-strings that play soft and low
And all the night's magic seems to whisper and hush
And all the soft moonlight seems to shine in your blush

[Smile]

I actually prefer King Harvest...

Everybody here is outta' sight
they don't bark and don't bite
they keep things loose, they keep things alight
everybody was dancin' in the moonlight

Dancin' in the moonlight
everybody feelin' warm, and right
it's such a fine and natural sight
everybody's dancin' in the moonlight

-- "Dancing in the Moonlight"

Ohhh it's finally dark so I can dance under the stars and everyone's gone to bed already! [Cry]

I guess I can just lie on the lawn and look at the stars all by myself then... Man, it sure is beautiful up there. [Razz]

It's lovely out tonight (this morning really)
But is the beauty of dancing under the stars worth the mosquito bite welts I'd get all over my body?

Think about it people. That's deep stuff right there...

*Meadowlarks greet the day as the sun slides up the old brick building, momentarily offering Midas' touch to the ivy clinging so precariously to the brick building. With a resentful groan, the window slides up the runners and Shan leans out the window. She gazes thoughtfully over at the meadows where so many had danced together, laughing, singing - under the benevolent gaze of moon and stars.

Or was it all just a dream?*

If you were a member of the Church of Universal Love and Music, there would be no question. You are giving a blood offering to the Universe, and the universe returns the favor by providing a beautiful place to dance.

Speaking of beauty, has everyone ever heard a hermit thrush in the woods at 4 AM?

I was wondering when someone was going to bring up the Moondance.

In other news, I think someone needs to take [No No] away from Ralphie. It's getting out of hand.

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Bob the Lawyer,
Ralphie has already been put in time out at the Church of Universal Love and Music. She is grounded from smilies for one day.

Posted by Ralphie (Member # 1565) on :

THIS [No No] is the greatest smilie of all time.

I'm firmly of the opinion that if I do not take very opportunity to use it, I will most assuredly lose it.

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Bob the Lawyer,
I put her in time out, but i just can't make her stay there. Sorry.
