I applied for a part-time job today - I already have 1 full-time job and work as a contractor in a few different fields - with CGNetworks, who own www.cgtalk.com and a few other sites. They had a position open for a part-time editor, so on the strength of my writing for Digital Media World magazine and others, and on my work with the Computer Graphics College, I applied.
A few minutes later I got a reply back from the head of CGNetworks.
He already knew who I was as he was familiar with my work on DMW! I'm getting read!
Didn't get the job tho, they need their editor to actually be in the same state as the company. Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

(impressed) Wow, Troubs... That's awesome. (jealous)

...apart from T_Smith's other thread, it is awesome that you're being recognized. *applause* Posted by Annie (Member # 295) on :
The sincerest form of flattery, they say, is juvenile mockery and silly insipid behavior.
(Apart from your writing, I AM totally jealous of your songwriting abilities, ya punk.) Posted by Ralphie (Member # 1565) on :
Nice, Kelsey.
I always read your stuff here. Posted by Dan_raven (Member # 3383) on :
Wouldn't a Troubador be more interested in being heard than read?
Gratz on the fan base Troub. It grows, you know.

Thanks all! It feels great to be a professional writer - even if I'm not doing the creative stuff many of you fine folks are - and even better to be getting some recognition for it from the industry!
