I applied for a part-time job today - I already have 1 full-time job and work as a contractor in a few different fields - with CGNetworks, who own www.cgtalk.com and a few other sites. They had a position open for a part-time editor, so on the strength of my writing for Digital Media World magazine and others, and on my work with the Computer Graphics College, I applied.

A few minutes later I got a reply back from the head of CGNetworks.

He already knew who I was as he was familiar with my work on DMW! I'm getting read! [Big Grin]

Didn't get the job tho, they need their editor to actually be in the same state as the company. [Grumble]

...apart from T_Smith's other thread, it is awesome that you're being recognized. *applause* [Smile]

The sincerest form of flattery, they say, is juvenile mockery and silly insipid behavior.

Gee, we must like you, Troubs. [Smile]

Congratulations. Seriously. [Smile]

Three cheers for comrade Troubador!

Yeah, what Annie said. [Smile]

(Apart from your writing, I AM totally jealous of your songwriting abilities, ya punk.) [Wink]

Wouldn't a Troubador be more interested in being heard than read?

Gratz on the fan base Troub. It grows, you know.

Thanks all! It feels great to be a professional writer - even if I'm not doing the creative stuff many of you fine folks are - and even better to be getting some recognition for it from the industry!

[Big Grin]
