Okay, this is essentially a "How's about we try another meet-up" thread. I forsook the usual "UNTIE" in the title, sorry to disappoint. I'm doing this now since we usually take a while to get these things sorted out, and I would really like to meet a lot of you before mid-December, when I leave the frosty hills of Madison for many months.
So, why not? Let's try this one more time. No gas shortages, no "other plans," no excuses!

Also no mandatory auto inspection! You can drive around with a 2x4 bungee-corded to your car in place of a rear bumper and no one will say a WORD! (I saw a car like this in Madison--it had a rear window sticker that said "question technology.")

I dunno Jeni, I know an awful lot of folks I went to school with that thought great things about their little state. But for us out of staters I think you're right. I truly believe it says something when everyone I know who came from out of state to go to school at UIUC left the state immediately upon graduation, whereas the majority of the ones who came from in state stayed there. I think they just don't know.

Well, kat, it all depends. Was that year and a half break voluntary? If so then it's okay. Oh, and it's strange to me to see graduation dates like yours because you graduated high school the same year as my brother, and college the same year as me. My best friend is on the seven year plan. It was voluntary. And although I admit I spent much of my time at college in an incredibly joyous cocoon, I did have a great time in Neverland.

Yeah, isn't that funny? Tom really gives the impression of being about a decade and a half older than he actually is. Part of it is his occasional casual reference to having been angry at Reagan when he did this or that while in office. I know was surprised when I realized that he was younger than me.

Things must have changed since 1998, then. (I lived outside Madison from 1993 to 1998. I remember that before we moved back to PA, we had to replace our cracked tail lights in order to pass PA inspection. By then they had been broken for almost a year, and patched repeatedly with red plastic report covers and duct tape.)
