Kinda like "To Tell the Truth." You ask the person using this username questions, I answer, then you have to decide if it's Pat or Jon Boy.

We'll start with an easy login, 'Pat. '

???
I don't get it.
*is very slow*

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Are these yes or no questions? Or can they be more open-ended?

Is there a maximum number of questions?

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

You see, Pat and Jon Boy have like 70 different usernames. There has been questions lately as to exactly whom is whom. There are even allegations that Jon Boy has figured out Pat's secret password. So, this is a way to figure it out.

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

How about we keep the number of questions to 10, but they can be open-ended.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Ok then. 'Pat,' what's your wife's name. [Big Grin]

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

Are you Pat? [Razz]

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Do you think Jon Boy should have gotten the femme bost?

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

rivka: Karli
Hobbes: yes

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

what, you're not gonna answer ME? [Wink]

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

Nope, that's an illegal question.

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

What's your brother's name?

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

Am I disqualified from asking questions?

Posted by Brinestone (Member # 5755) on :

I suppose I shouldn't play, should I? No, Ruth won't spoil anybody's fun. Nobody wants Ruthses around for games like these. Nice Ruth, always helps.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

I assume you are required to answer in the persona of your primary personality, and not that of an assumed personality?

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

rivka: I am answering the questions as correctly as I can.

Eruve: Pat has five brothers: Darb, Steve, Troy, Jeff and Robley.

Is one of them Head Ditch Digger?
('cuz I remember something from an earlier thread...)

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

Head Ditch Digger is an adopted brother, along with David, Mark, Matt and Darrin.

Pat, did you grow the goatee solely for the BYU lecture? And have you shaved it off yet?

I did grow a goatee solely for my lecture at BYU, and I have since shaved it off.

How many more questions?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

I guess Pat.

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

Can't guess yet. There are still five questions to go.

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

Gee. Pat sure has a big family.

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

Alright. Let's close the questions.

Whom am I?

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

Sound like Pat to me. Then again, I wouldn't really know. I vote for Pat anyway.

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Jeez, I can't guess because not enough questions have been asked, then before anymore questions are asked you call for guess. I didn't think either Jon Boy or Pat were that annoying. I guess Celia.

And I do have a big family. I haven't even mentioned my sisters.

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

How many sisters do you have?

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

Robyn, Suzie, Brenda, Tammy, Jill.

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

I'm sorry.
I have one sister, and she drives me nuts.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Would the answer to this question be the same if I asked you if you were Pat?

Posted by Trogdor the Burninator (Member # 4894) on :

Hobbes's answer deserves some sort of recognition.

*doesn't burninate Hobbes*

*burninates T_Smith*

Posted by Pat (Member # 879) on :

Okay. I'll let this one come to a close.

I am....

Pat.

What? You think I'm giving Jon Boy my password?

Jon Boy... please call 1-800-688-2161 and ask for Pat.

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

WooHoo! I was right! [Big Grin]
Who's next?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Yah, but I was right first. [Razz] [Wink]

Thanks Trogdor. [Big Grin]

It would really be funny if one of them made the name "Pat Boy" [Evil Laugh]

That would be more of a challenge!

Posted by Pat Boy (Member # 5824) on :

Okay, round 2.

Posted by El Babalao (Member # 5817) on :

::curses Pat Boy::

Now we just have to wait and see which one I got!

(A win-win situation, really!)

[Evil]

Posted by Pat Boy (Member # 5824) on :

You actually have to ask a question, you know.

Posted by El Babalao (Member # 5817) on :

::curses Robert Jordan::

::curses Terry Goodkind::

Which one pleased you more?

[Evil]

Posted by Pat Boy (Member # 5824) on :

The latter, but not by much.

So...where did Jon Boy meet Ruth?

Posted by El Babalao (Member # 5817) on :

Do I have to wait to say it?

Posted by Pat Boy (Member # 5824) on :

Jon Boy met Ruth at the Brick Oven in Provo. Come on folks. Ask me something hard.

Yes you do, Ic. Those are the rules.

So who are you rooting for in the MLB playoffs?

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

Where did Jon Boy, Ruth, hansenj, Demander, and I meet before we found Pat at the Y shindig?

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

It worked for me last time . . . [Wink]

Pat Boy, what's your wife's name?

Posted by Megachirops (Member # 4325) on :

*shrug*

I guess Pat went to sleep.

Posted by Pat Boy (Member # 5824) on :

Ashley, you guys met outside the computer store in the Wilk. That's easy.

Rivka, my wife's name is . . .

. . . Ruth.

Posted by Megachirops (Member # 4325) on :

Hey! You changed your answer, Pat!

Posted by Pat Boy (Member # 5824) on :

It was late, and Pat Boy was tired. My wife had to correct me because I misread it. Or mistyped my answer. Or something.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

Nevermind, I guess Jon Boy.

*eyes Pat Boy suspiciously*

Do you have a friend named Ellery Queen?

Posted by Zevlag (Member # 1405) on :

This is crazy!

(even crazier is the number of names each of them has!)

Posted by Pat Boy (Member # 5824) on :

No, I don't have a friend named Ellery Queen.

Posted by Pat Boy (Member # 5824) on :

I suppose I should reveal my true identity . . .

Yes, I am indeed Jon Boy. Though really, it wasn't that hard to figure out.

Posted by sarcasticmuppet (Member # 5035) on :

We talked at the BYU shindig v. 2.0 that the "What's your wife's name" question should be banned.

[Big Grin]

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

But if we can't ask the wife question, I won't have anything to ask! [Razz]

I bet no one even got my Ellery Queen reference.

*sulks*

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Rivka, I love Ellery Queen, but I don't get the reference. *distressed*

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Do you know who Ellery Queen was? [Wink]

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Oh, awesome! I didn't know all that!

I really, really enjoy the Ellery Queen books. That's my literary chewing gum - my comfort books - my "now you're home" bookshelf. [Smile] It's good to know the story!

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Ellery Queen is great! I was hooked with the first book I read, The Finishing Stroke. I had an advantage reading that book over your average English speaker, and I still didn't figure it out! And the title should totally have clued me in, too!

I had a second-hand subscription to EQ Mystery Magazine for a while too. [Wink] Those shorts were not quite as good as actual Queens, but they were very good!

If I ever have all the time and money I want [Wink] , I plan to subscribe to EQMM.
