I am in the same boat, Mack. But, I am not bitter... nope... not one bi...bi...bit.
No really, at this point in my life, Valentine's Day is just that... a day. Nothing special. Someday there might be someone in my life to make it so, but for now I am okay with where I am.
I'm just glad that I am finally getting over this darn cough. Valentine's Day and Halloween... I always seem to get sick. In fact, the first Valentine's Day I can truly remember experiencing I got the chicken pox. The beautiful box I had made to hold all my cards didn't get used that day. I just want chocolate. Dark chocolate of the Gharadelli variety. All creamy with no fruit or nuts or mint or goo of any kind, just pure chocolate. And I want my friend to get her valentine And then more chocolate for me. Brownies with chocolate chips, chocolate milk shakes with breyer's chocolate ice cream and melted Gharidelli chips and cocoa powder with extra creamy whipped cream...

The best Valentine's Day I had was two years ago, when I decided I didn't want to sit at home feeling sorry for myself, so I went with a friend to her local gaming night. And there I met Roger, who I ended up dating for a year. Whee!
The worse Valentine's Day I had were the two I "celebrated" with Bill and Roger. I made such a Big Deal of the day that I completely stressed myself out and didn't enjoy it at all.
So this Valentine's day, I'm not too upset to be single. I have enough stress in my life; don't really need some self-induced stress caused by panic over a silly holiday.

I made penis and heart cookies for any people valentine-less on valentines day in the dorm. Shall I mail them to anyone? they'd be a day or two late, but better late than never..... and cookie making is good therapy. Better therapy is having people eat the cookies and tell you how good they are
