Okay, I would have posted this in the Passion of the Christ thread, but I was afraid it would be buried, what with it being a three-pager by now and all. I just went on Fandango and bought tickets for the opening night of the movie. Some of my friends have to work late, so we're going to the February 25th 9:55 show at Century 16. Come join us. We'll have a Controversy Party, and be the first to post what we thought, violently disagreeing as always. It'll be swell. Who's with me?

What day is the 25th? I'm on a school computer that doesn't let me access the calandar, and I figure it'd be a whole lot lazier just to ask.

Nate, the 25th is a Wednesday. But more importantly where is the Century 16?

Is Nate anti-chris? Ahhhh... So many things are making so much more sense.

The 25th is next Wednesday, one week from today. Century 16 is the big cineplex on 3300 South State Street. You can't miss it. Anyway, if anyone's coming, get your tickets before they sell out and let me know so I can save some seats or something. I've already got at least 7 people who should be there, but no confirmed Jatraqueros, which would be a shame.

Yeah, Century 16 is no problem to find.

I-15
3300 S. Exit.
Estimated 3-4 stop lights.

Parking there sure sucks, though.

Wed. 25; 9:55; Jatraqueros.

Maybe, but not sure.

Ok, I'm going to stop by Century 16 after work and get a ticket. I don't trust buying them online. I don't know why, but I don't.

After listening to descriptions of some reactions of some people to this movie, I think I'm going to skip seeing it for a couple weeks. I just can't stand weeping and wailing or praying in theaters. :/

Don't think I can make it. But I'll be interested to read what you think. I haven't been to a movie since ROTK. We have some gift certificates, but nothing seems special enough to use them on.

You know what makes me mad, is the thought that maybe they only put that contraversial stuff in there to elevate the buzz. I don't usually like that line of reasoning (as when it comes to Bush planning 9/11 or the military arranging the Jessica Lynch capture) but I don't think it's too low to assert that movie producers might have done it.

Pooka:

Nothing seems special enough to use your passes on? Even hanging out with your fellow Jatraqueros and becoming the hippest most controversy-savvy member of your community? I'm hurt. [Wink]

Anyway, this is just a bump in case anyone missed it first time around. Two days left, and there still appear to be tickets available. After all the big talk, if Nate is the only person I see at the theatre from our happy little forum, I'll be very disappointed in all the rest of you suckers. [Razz]

Speaking of which, I got to get those tickets today.

I'll look into coming. I didn't see this thread until now. Although I did talk to Nate about going to it.

Got the ticket, although, I do have a Young Single Adult thing my friends are making me go to that night. Should be done with it around 8:30-9:00. Anything you want to do in advance, or anytime you want to meet?

Posted by Speed (Member # 5162) on :

Right on. Well, most of the people I'm going with aren't going to be free until 9:00 either. It's my day off, so I'm free, more or less, all day. But it might be a good idea to head off to the theatre not too long after 9:00 so that we can all get seats somewhere near together. Anyway, if you want to go get a bite before the show, I'm up for it. Otherwise, we could just show up at the theatre and hang out in line with everybody, which would be a similar experience, sans food. It's up to you. I am, as Ice Cube once said, down for whatever.

So it looks like Nate's the only one coming, eh? (except maybe raventh. What's the word?) Well, the rest of you, a pox on all your houses. Scurvy dogs, the lot of ye. [No No]

How about this: Meet you in front of the Theater around 9:15'ish.

Posted by Speed (Member # 5162) on :

Right on. I'm there.

Posted by raventh1 (Member # 3750) on :

Yeah, I should be there, just got my ticket through Fandango. I'll probably hang out around there before 9 or so, but I'll plan on being in front of the theater around 9:15
