The West Wing once had an episode where the President 'accidentally' makes a negative emark about his opponent's intelligence when the camera is still running, supposedly thinking it was off. This gives him an edge in the campaign because suddenly his opponent's campaign has become about why he's not stupid.
Well, Kerry has made an 'accidental' comment in a very similar situation, that his Republican foes 'are the most crooked, you know, lying group of people I've ever seen.'
Will it have the same effect? Who knows, but its certainly interesting to wonder how intentional it was.

The democrats have often said things like that about the republicans, and vice versa. Something like that is just dust in the wind and won't bend the direction of Bush's campaign much.
But it is a little low, don't you think? Do you really think that Democrats are the righteous heroes defending us against the evil Republicans?
