I was always vastly amused, checking ornery, when I would post, my clock would say, for example "7:25" and my post would be time stamped "7:03"

Yeah, it was like you had the thought before you posted it.
I'm going to miss that.

What does it matter? It's only the eastern time zone anyway. What percentage of hatrackers are in that time zone?
Another time related question: Why is daylight savings time so unsymmetrical about the solstice? We don't go OFF of it until some time in October, which is a month past the fall equinox, and yet here we just passed the spring equinox and we won't START it for another whole month. If it makes sense at all to have daylight savings time (which I am personally opposed to, because it plays havoc with my circadian rhythms) then why would they not base the timing of it on the actual sunset and sunrise times? It's bizarre.
