Finally an incentive for marriage!

Besides this "love" thing I keep hearing about. [Dont Know]

Of course, this is the idea that first hit me when I read this article.

Well, if she produces a lot, and hospitals need it and are willing to pay, I don't see any problem. It's like people who can donate giant amounts of plasma.

Yeah, I mean, I meant it in an offensive way (you know, cause my sense of humor is awful?), but it's really quite plausible. Gotta support those babies somehow.

Liquid gold. Of course, you have to be able to produce copious amounts of the stuff. I always have enough and to spare in the beginning and have at times considered such a thing. But I would donate it rather than sell it, I think. Instead, I just saved it and froze it for later. [Smile]

Yeah, breastmilk is a great, if rare and unusual, mixer.

[ROFL]

I think I will refrain from further comment....

Yeah, that was the most ridiculous and stunning thing I could possibly think up about breastmilk.

My hubby said mine was horrible in his latte, due to the overwhelming taste of garlic.
I have donated (to an adoptive mom) but could not imagine making $$$ off it.

Honestly, I can't imagine drinking breastmilk....

Just another human inhibition, eh? I wonder if some people feel it is akin to cannibalism.

"Woman paid for a car with breast milk"

What? I had to read that about 80 times to figure out what the object of the sentence was.

I thought journalists should have learned the basics of constructing a sentence.

She was paid, AND for a car with breast milk, no less! What was she doing with a car with breast milk anyway?

it's not bad...

and I'm not going to describe the circumstances under which I found that out...

That sentence made perfect sense to me. She sold so much breast milk that she was able to buy a car with the proceeds.

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :

It COMPLETELY depends upon the diet of the woman in question. (sidenote: Milk isn't the only thing that works this way. *dashes off quickly before she can be caught*) I've heard of the babies themselves refusing to drink what the mom was producing after mom was eating some disagreeable things.

added: I figured it out too, saxon, but not after scratching my brain. I just thought journalism was supposed to be crystal clear. *laughs to herself in amusement*

I really can't see how you misunderstood the sentence, actually. I don't see how to reword it to make it any clearer, either.

I admit, I was among those who misunderstood. I thought it had to do with her being in a car. But then, I usually skim rather than read carefully unless something catches my interest.

How 'bout: "Woman buys car with breast-milk money"

You don't see how it could be misunderstood, Jon?

Woman paid for a car with breast milk: It could mean that she was paid for her car, and the buyer used breast milk to buy it. It could mean that she was paid for her car and the breast milk that came with it. I know that there would have to be an "is" between woman and paid for those to work, but the journalist tend to leave things like that out alot.

Okay, I see it now. It's like the face-vase picture, where you can't see both at the same time. Of course, you also have to consider the space constraints of the column and the fact that it's translated from Norwegian.

*just saw the Norwegian thing*

[Embarrassed]

In that case, it's very good.

Carry on.

This is my favorite part: "According to Lie, it is genetic explanations why she produced so much milk."
