So I nearly killed myself yesterday. I was helping my friend Heather, who is a massage therapist, paint her new room at the doctor's office. We are doing a "Starry Night" by Vincent theme. So we start painting the primer. Mind you this room has no circulation.

I'm painting and painting and start feeling a little weird. I put down the roller and step outside. "Holy cow! I feel drunk!" Get back inside and call to my friend, "Heather!" "what?" "Time to get outside" In a slightly slurred voice, "Let me just finnish painting this wall". "Heather! Now!" So we both step outside and we're like "Damn! We're high! That's not good"

We could actually smell the fumes of the latex primer in out lungs. Yah, so we're not experts at paint. [Wink]

Yikes! Glad to hear you are OK. At least it wasn't carbon monoxide poisoning. [Angst]

Silly people - painting with no ventilation! Hopefully you still have enough brain cells left to function normally.... [Wink]

An yes, be glad it wasn't carbon monoxide - that is indeed no fun (especially when the stupid ER takes more than 3 hours to treat you - even though your doctor has already called in to tell them you are coming). [Mad]

I should really comment on this as I am part of the safety team on my ship. I will say this much. Most spaces when they are painted, the personnel have to wear breathing protection. My department is dismissed on this because we have ventillation up the yin yang and it is never turned off. Makes it fairly frozen during winter.
