The invade Canada (as well as the invade France) site is far more clever.

Posted by Bob the Lawyer (Member # 3278) on :

I don't know. Our current territory followed by our future territory was pretty funny.

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

It was? If that's what you find funny, then that's just one more reason for us to conquer Canada.

See, you only THINK you're invading us. But in five years you'll all be eating poutine and Timbits like home-grown Canucks.

Ok, I'm over it.

I'd just like to point out that I did this very thread was my first fluff thread I created, many moons ago.

I'm not.

Jon Boy's sentence doesn't make sense!

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

And here's the explanation.

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Yeah, yeah, edit now.

WE ALL SAW IT!!!!!

Jon Boy's sentence doesn't make sense! Jon Boy's sentence doesn't make sense! Jon Boy's sentence doesn't make sense! Jon Boy's sentence doesn't make sense!

Kudos on the explanation link though.

[Roll Eyes]

You know, I have to admit that I'm a little perplexed by the reaction. I may call myself a grammar nazi, but when was the last time I jumped on someone for leaving out a word?

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

Oh, it's not that you jump on people. It's just that you never make (grammatical / word-related) mistakes. So to see one is kind of refreshing.

Don't fret, it's gloating springing from pure envy and admiration. Take it as a compliment. [Smile]

I vote that we invade canada, there is only one problem to that plan though, who would we blame for all our problems with out Canada, I mean we do enough of it they wrote a song about it. O-well. I think that Rhaegar should be in on this. I hope his pickaxe is shapened. Party at my place after invasion.

I just can't respect a people who call themselves "Canucks." I mean, that rhymes with many of the best four letter words.

See the problem with invading canada is what do we get out of it? What does canada have that we need? Certainly not more people (should we suddenly be in need of more people I will be glad to offer my help in producing as many as needed.), nor do we need another language for a fair sized chunck of the popuplation to speak. The only thing that Canada has that we need that I can come up with are those neat looking two dollar (CA Dollars call it $1.76) coins, and I don't think it is worth it if Celine Dion has to come with it.

more like more room for people, since they are less dense in population.

IN POPULATION

and:

<@smash> my friends dad is stationed there at one of its borders.. some secret military shit.. but the surprising part is.. canada has a military which does stuff... [Razz]
<+JP2> yeh they get coffee for the american soldiers

Hmm...Canada does have some good oil reserves and pipelines in Alberta and British Columbia. That might be motivation enough. I'd propose we leave Quebec alone and let that be its own country. To cover up our true oil interest in Canada we could say that we are doing it to protect the seals!

If the US invades Canada, it will most likely be for the reserves of clean freshwater. I'm serious -- this has become a free trade issue.

They're called toonies. The $1 ones are loonies. Get it right. Crezzy Americans!

I don't want canada. 30 million socialists tipping the election? feh

So don't give them U.S. citizenship until they've been properly reeducated.

Posted by Daedalus (Member # 1698) on :

Well, if you want them to vote Republican, it's probably a better idea to avoid giving them any education at all...

Posted by Jon Boy (Member # 4284) on :

Right. Because clearly, there's an educated/uneducated split right along party lines. Oh, wait . . .

Posted by luthe (Member # 1601) on :

Should the two dollar coins becalled bearies or something considering that the one dollar coin has a loon on it?

Edit to add: The two dolloar coin has a bear on it.

Another name considered for the twoonie was the doubloonie. Personally, I like that one. Reminds me of pirates. Heh.

Bit difficult to say, though.

It might be a good idea to invade Canada ... except that we tried twice already and failed both times. Maybe we should try Mexico.

And Canada already burnt the White House once, right, so a second time? Pfft. Easy.

Heh. [Wink]

This thread has started nagging on me. Not because of the content, but because the last few posts put a tune in my head, and I couldn't figure out what it was. Then, it hit me:

We're tiny, we're toony,
We're all a little looney,
And in this cartoony,
We're invading your TV!

Oh yeah, we're also better than the US at hockey. In the end, isn't that all that really counts?

We already invaded Mexico. We wound up with California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and part of Wyoming. Not to mention solidifying their loss of Texas.

Whoa there! Don't get too far ahead of your self. The Detroit Red Wings will kick butt more than any Canadian team. Bam, said it. I gots to stands ups for my boys in red. Of course.....Yzerman is Canadian. I guess we can't burn them all.

Posted by Fitz (Member # 4803) on :

Detroit?!? A team that can't even maintain a lead over Nashville? If Detroit makes it past the first round, they'll lose in the second. They have no goaltending.

Your best chance is whoever wins between New Jersey and Philly.

Posted by Ralphie (Member # 1565) on :

I'm just as up for taking out our bacon-loving friends to the North as anyone, but saying that Americans are better at hockey than Canadians is like saying Americans can out lawn-bowl the British.

Insanity.

Posted by twinky (Member # 693) on :

And, as usual, two pairs of Canadian teams square off against one another in the first playoff round, resulting in two great series that go to six or seven games each – but then the winning team is so tired that they can't get past the second round.

Every *#^@ing time. It's a conspiracy.

Posted by Fitz (Member # 4803) on :

Indeed, and it's not like we can count on Montreal to beat Boston. Canada's best hope is Ottawa.

Not one of these teams is based in Canada.
Besides, I've been a Detroit fan since Tim Cheveldae was goaltending....er lack thereof. I'm from there. WHY go for anyone else?

Thank the holy being I'm not a football fan. Sheesh, the Lions......meow.
