Because I had nothing better to do, I ran a google search on my name. I'm not sure whether its impressive or insulting that it took 206 hits before I got to one that was actually me. I had another at 268. Anyway, my question is, how bored do you have to be before you turn off the computer and go to bed?

do you have a common name? my name came up in the first three on the first page ... and one is from my old ISP that we haven't used in over a year (I thought they would have deleted that when we canceled)

Really, really, really bored. At least if you're me.

Not terribly common, but somebody with my name wrote a computer text book, so a lot of the hits were in reference to that. Also, I didn't get as many newspaper hits as I expected, what with play reviews and all. That may be something different.

a lot of the hits for my name were a pastor, an activist or missionary in (or for?) Colombia (possibly the pastor?), a teacher and a software engineer (possibly the one that went to MIT?)

there are others, someone who is a hiring manager at Bank One ...

then there's me ... my list of accomplishments pales in comparison to the others with the same name ... maybe this wasn't such a fun exercise after all

Hmm, not many hits for my name -- and several are me.

O_o Hey! Why am I still listed as faculty at a school where I taught in 2000-2001? *checks* Ah, only cached.

OH SURE. LOG OFF WHEN I LOG BACK ON. *thwap*

The first 4 are all me.

That's it - I just can't get the link to work.

[Big Grin]

At least I have something to feel smug about. Because I sure as heck can't feel smug about my editing or URL skills. [Razz]

Edit: and number 7 is me too. [Smile] I'm not the deacon though.

Arrrgh!

Silly naked Justine Saunders. No relation, I assure you.

[Embarrassed]

Though I am still the first!

The first two are me (both out of date), and oddly enough the 8th one is my brother. There really aren't that many people out there with my name, or even just my last name.

Hmmm...the very first listing is someone who makes personalized greeting cards, a little while onward there is someone who writes poetry for pathetic.org, and lots and lots of addresses (my last name's Lane). Aside from that there are more porn sites than I wanna count.

I guess my namesakes (except for the porn stars) are pretty creative. That's cool.

I never did find my own name, though, but I only searched for about eight pages.

Yup, my secret is out.

Of course it also explains why I lose track of an argument after 8 minutes or so... [Wink]

Ack! I married my sister in 1825!

And I didn't see any naked Justine Sanders.

isn't there a "method" to discover what your porn name would be? something involving your pet's name or your middle name plus the street where you grew up, I think ...

Maybe they are all taking the "Lane" part of the street name ...

There's only one me. [Smile]

I haven't had the patience (or free 4 hours) to check, but my guess is that I'd first show up in the 280,000 to 320,000 range.

Heh. 2nd and 4th out of 353,000.

I googled my name many times, and have never found any that were me, except it being listed along with 300 others in my graduating class. [Dont Know] I guess I'm just too common. [Roll Eyes]

It's almost always me. There are either no results, or it returns me as the first few links.

If I do it without the quotation marks, I get geneology sites.

Haha, NOBODY has my name! [Wink]

The first three or four, whenever I try this, area always me... and after that, it starts splitting up the first and last names in the results. There are some others who have my first name, and some who have my last name, but nobody else has the whole thing!
