Feel free to place your own wagers.

Til you kill some other defenseless organism?

Til you have Hobbes completely brainwashed and ready to do your bidding?

Til you sucker the next newbie into playing the "Guess celia's age" game?

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

no, but now i have stuff to do in the mean time. aside from the second. i only take the best minions, and he's failed at too many simple tasks to qualify.

Posted by zgator (Member # 3833) on :

When you use the phrase "mean time", it takes on a whole new meaning.

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

does meaning take on a whole new meaning as well?

Posted by zgator (Member # 3833) on :

No, because I used it.

Wait, you just used it, so maybe.

I don't know.

Stop bugging me.

See what I mean .

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

Don't you mean see what I mean.

good call on the wincing, though i don't know how you could tell my math was off. i have a whole extra week!

Anyone else have a guess? The hint is that coil guessed 42 and was high. Searching is not fair.

July 7th?

Well, for kicks and grins lets all imagine funny outcomes.

1) Thats your baptism date. You're joining the LDS church.
2) Oh no, you and Bill are getting a divorce!
3) Celia unleashes her supercells, which grow at an alarming rate and cover the earth in booby tissue.
4) WEEE!! You're having a baby!!! For dinner.
5) You're taking a trip. To Utah. And you're bringing your melons.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Its the booby tissue, isn't it?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Hey! Why did you think I was the one being brainwashed? Of all the people on Hatrack you at least could've choosen Icarus.

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

It's true, Icarus at least has an an air of competence.

No other new people are going to guess my age? Aww.

Do you mean, is that the answer of a stoned person or a cruel person?

Frankly, I'm not sure.

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

Zan, now I'm just back to 'huh?'

z, am I missing a threat here? my spider-sense wasn't going off till you said that... <edit to say that I'm not going to edit this just because of your edit so it can make sense>

I thought both stoned and evil were taken for granted... I was speaking of progression along the line of whole numbers and wondering whether I had guessed "less than" or "greater than" our target number, which I am actually hoping is more like 38-40 since I have always had a romantic fascination with older women. If I helped narrow it down, it would take some of the challenge away, and the new guessers would be automatically better off. For all you know, you're correct.

[Evil]

42 is too high.
12 is too low.

I thought my original post could be a give-away.

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

you'll have to gms me the logic of that one.

I thought you were talking to me when you were speaking of martial arts...

Posted by zgator (Member # 3833) on :

And here I thought he had an uncanny knowledge of what's happening on my instant messanger account.

Posted by Jim-Me (Member # 6426) on :

so what kind of prize do I get for being the closest?

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

how about I don't kick you for being so far off, even though you were closest?

that sounds fair to me. [Big Grin]

Posted by blacwolve (Member # 2972) on :

24?

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

and we have a winner!!!!

did you already know that? you win dinner for yourself and a guest after you've settled into the west lafayette area.

i guess now i should go back to killing defenseless organisms for the next 7 weeks. this waiting has nothing to do with my age, after all.

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

She's going to start fighting crime in 7 weeks in spandex, and a cape.

And green hair. Gotta have the green hair.

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

*would love to have green hair*

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

O_O

holy poo. celia and I are the SAME AGE? *falls over*

hmm.
submitting your master's thesis? defending your master's thesis? GETTING your master's degree?

Posted by T_Smith (Member # 3734) on :

Yeah.

Oh, and I'm putting down a bet for... either graduating, or putting in your thesis.

PS, I stole that from Jamie. [Smile]

graduation is still at least a year away, kids.

edit: and i'm older.

I didn't know your age, but I knew it was in your 20s.

As for this one, are you changing advisors?

Now, do I get a steak dinner?

Posted by dkw (Member # 3264) on :

Bob's and my next date?

No, wait . . . that's only six weeks away and it doesn't have anything to do with Celia. Hmm.

The research part of your thesis will be completed?

Posted by peter the bookie (Member # 3270) on :

[16:55] mackillian: I thought you were a couple years older!
[16:55] celia: gee
[16:55] celia: thanks

and i thought it would be a newbie.

Posted by mackillian (Member # 586) on :

*mutter*

mackillian: what?
mackillian: it isn't like I've seen your photo and say you LOOK old
mackillian: I mean maturity wise.
mackillian: or I just assume that most people are older than me.
celia: pick a reason ;-)
mackillian: I think it's both
mackillian: I assume I'm immature

[Angst]

ok, 7 weeks less a day. i don't know if i will update this every day...that's a lot of commitment from me.

Posted by zgator (Member # 3833) on :

I think being committed would be good for you.

Do you need a nice hot cup of shut-the-hell-up?

What's really funny to me after reading both threads is that the closest guess to mine is on mack's and the closest guess to mack's is on mine.

I'll give ya'll a hint. The guess to mack's on mine is much, much, much closer than the other.
