Thief: Deadly Shadows (aka "III") is set to be released today.

For all Warren Specter fans, and if you've seen the screenshots, vids and demos, then you know this game will be kicking ass on species we haven't even discovered yet. And and I'm fully convinced that my whole life has been leading to the moment I receive it from Fed Ex* within 24 hours of shipping.

I'm just so damned happy I could weep like a little sissy bitch.

(*Well, until Half-life 2 comes out. Which, apparently, is never.)

<-Currently unable to tear himself away from SW:KOTOR long enough to worry about Thief: Dark Shadows.

Ralphie: City. Of. Heroes.

Join us in the fight against robots, thugs, zombies, and Nazis!

I mean, who WOULDN'T want to beat up on some Nazis?

I'm still too deeply wounded by the debacle that was Deus Ex 2 to think about Warren in anything but the bitterest of terms.

Ralphie, I know it can be hard to tell one generic subtitle from another, but it's Deadly Shadows [Smile]

That's good; everyone in the forum above a Certain Age was undoubtedly picturing Really Bad Production Values and Barnabas Collins as an undead purse-snatcher.

You are so right, Geoff. Fixt.

CyberDan - C'mon. It wasn't THAT bad. If it hadn't been the sequel to Deux Ex, then it would have been a very playable game without all the hullabaloo.

It's just that expectations were so high. However, I'm pretty sure this isn't going to disappoint.

(I checked Fed Ex - my copy shipped out yesterday - I get it tomorrow! Three day weekend, and I'm pretty sure I won't be seeing the outside of my office 'cept to eat, void and maybe sleep. Maybe.)

See, what you need is one of those chairs that Homer Simpson invented.

I think the newest games I have for my computer are Half-Life: Blue Shift and Ground Control. One of these days, when I get a new computer, I'm going to have to start a "Get saxon caught up in the gaming world" thread.

Highly anticipated games being launched is a sure-fire way of me getting a new video card.

Well, Dan's cast-off. But he's like having this really stylish older sister that only shops at Nordi's hand her clothes down.

You know, schnookums, I don't know if DX2 would have been that great even had it not been the sequel to DX. Granted, I only played the demo, but the physics felt really loose and the mechanics of the game felt ragged. And I didn't care for the streamlining they went and did. We'll see, maybe I'll pick it up for 10$ some day.

I still haven't finished Thief II, actually. Not sure where my CD went to...
