There are four rooms reserved for KamaCon. AJ, because so many of you promised to come, bought ten.

This is par for the course for Hatrack; as I recall, the original EnderCon was a financial disaster for much the same reason.

So this is a thread for those of you who have decided NOT to reserve a hotel room yet to justify your continued existence. Otherwise, I will shun you.

Rivka already reserved our room! I swear!

Roll call - who's done it?

Vana and Lime, have y'all yet?

Guys (Frisco et al)?

Mack, what about your room?

ElJay? Bob? Bob, you got a room all to yourself away from the crazy teenagers. I hope its reserved.

Saxy? Sndrake? Kwsni? narnia? I think Pop has reserved so far...

I am rooming with celia.

Celia made the reservations.

I just called Wendy and left a message. It is possible she miscounted. I have everyone's "real" names except rivka's to crosscheck with Wendy's offical list.

Rivka if you would be willing to e-mail celia (celia60@hotmail.com) with your "real" name, I'd appreciate it. She has access to my work e-mail which I am extremely reluctant to give out publicly on hatrack.

And the culprit is:

PAPA MOOSE

Wendy doesn't even know you exist and she searched by your last name for the rest of the hotel records, your wife didn't come up either.

Can you please straighten this out? (Call Wendy and give her your confirmation number so she can include you on the list.)

Please don't throw rotten fruit at me, as I have plenty of rotten things in my life already at the moment.

Originally I had planned to save a bit of money and drive home every night. However, since it now looks like I will be carless, I may want to stay at the hotel, because I don't want to take public transportation that late. I'm still undecided, and need a few more days to think about this (gah, I have too many things going on right now).

If I do stay at the hotel, I will need a roomate or two. Any offers?

Also, can someone remind me of how much the hotel is so I can figure out if I can even afford to stay there? I may be forced to go home every night anyway, if the costs are too high.

Posted by BannaOj (Member # 3206) on :

xnera your extenuating circumstances are far more legitimate and extenuating than most of the schliemels making excuses.

*slaps forehead*

quote:

Władysław Broniewski, Ballads and Romances"

"Listen, girl! She's not listening...
It's daylight, it's a town..."
There is no town, not a living creature,
a naked, red-headed Ryfka runs in the ruins,
thirteen-year-old.

Well-fed Germans in a fat tank passed by.
(Run, Ryfka, run!)
"Mama's under the ruins, papa in Majdanek..."
She laughed, turned around, disappeared.

A good old chap from Lubartow passed by:
"Here, Ryfka, a white roll, so that you're healthy..."
She took it, had a bite, her teeth glistened:
"I'll bring it to Mama and to Papa."

A peasant passed by, threw a penny,
a peasant woman passed by, gave her something,
many, many people passed by,
all were stunned that she was naked and red-headed.

And a sorrowful Jesus passed by,
the SS were leading him to die,
they put them both by a hedge,
then took their guns in their hands.

"Listen, Jesus, listen, Ryfka, sie Juden,
for this thorn crown, for that red hair,
for your nakedness, for your guilt,
you both should be dead."

And it sounded Alleluia
in the Galilee,
and they both were turning
into angels,
and then a round of gunfire exploded...

"Listen, girl!...
She's not listening..."

(in the beginning he quotes a romantic poem by Adam Mickiewicz, in which a crazy girl is looking for her dead lover, and the people in the town look at her, disbelieving).

Yeah, Rivka, Shlomo thinks it's funny, too.

What's even funnier is, a bunch of orthodox Jewish dayschool kids who were visiting Florida made fun of his name, back when he was in elementary school. Meanwhile all the non-Jewish kids at the muncipal sports program thought he had a really cool name.
