I was just listening to Peter Gabriel's "The Barry Williams Show" and I'm wondering: was there a real show named like that ? Or is he just making fun of TV shows like the one described in the song ?

You will find that "the Jerry Springer Show" fits very well as a replacement to the title show....

I think I saw an extract from the clip of the song and when you see it it's easier to get (even if the only extract of Jerry Springer show I ever saw was from Austin Powers )
