Dana posted this picture on one of the other threads. I don't know why more people aren't talking about it. It was a very big deal this weekend.

No fast one, Dana took that picture Saturday in the Hospitality Suite at KamaCon.

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

Hey, don't point fingers at me! The picture is real! And it's from KamaCon! And Dana took it.

I just gave it slightly better showcase.

Yes we have pictures with other jatraqueros as proof. Guess they haven't been downloaded yet.

Wha....?? What the??
Um, I was there and heard no rumor of this??

*boggles some more*

Was that when I had dinner with my relatives on Sunday?

Posted by BannaOj (Member # 3206) on :

Teleperion, you were very much there... you didn't notice our guest?!

I... dunno!

If I was in the same room I was oblivious! I heard no announcement or people saying "dude, it's HIM!".

*so confused*

[Frown]

Bad sndrake! *spank*

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

AJ,

It's obvious that Telperion somehow did miss our surprise guest.

The only other explanation would be that he was too shy to introduce himself. [Smile]

How come I'm picturing a life size "Card"-Board cutout for picture taking purposes?

Don't grumble at me. I simply implied Card from cardboard.

[Eek!]

Uh, nobody will see me in anything like that anytime soon, if for no other reason than my set of measurements fall outside of the "profitable to mass-produce" category.

And don't get me started on "one size fits all."

I already asked Bob about studies regarding neck injuries in short people from those "safety devices" in cars called "shoulder harnesses." [Mad]

BTW, you should know that Mack's definition of "short" says that you're a tall person.

Betcha didn't know that. [Wink]

You know, CT, I found that the tactic you're talking about is a big one used by trolls. You may recall a recent troll who had a knack for implying an insult, and then trying to cover it up by saying that the only harm done was what you perceived in your own mind.

Posted by BannaOj (Member # 3206) on :

I was actually wondering given CT's picture, if a certain jatraquero that was present at KamaCon, does underwear modeling in his spare time, and how CT knows about it...

I tried to get someone to take a picture of the Surprise Guest signing a book, but evidently I'm the only one who is quite that nasty.

This is why I quit posting here. My only mistake was to think the outright hostility would be dropped if I only lurked. Simply amazing.

Posted by PSI Teleport (Member # 5545) on :

Oh, CT, after reading this thread again I caught the "feel" behind it and realized that everyone is implying things, but I wasn't doing that. I was just talking about the troll and didn't want to say a name, but only because I thought it was too rude. I wasn't playing the game, really.

Ha ha, Justa. There are plenty of trolls who fit that description, I promise.

You apparently are one of them. Insulting people when they aren't looking is no better than what you accused me of, even though I wasn't doing it in the first place.

CT, I wasn't taking you as thinking so. PSI seems to be holding a grudge.

The Surprise Guest was not CT's ex-husband. He was not disingenuous, either. [Smile]

Nor was he a cardboard cutout or a photo of a photo. He played Fluxx and Chrononaunts with us.

Posted by Space Opera (Member # 6504) on :

Hey, I played Cranium with that dude! He can hum very well, and is also talented at charades.

Posted by sndrake (Member # 4941) on :

He also worked very hard at trying to learn people's names. He made a point of saying how much he appreciated us all here at Hatrack. [Smile]

Is it supposed to be somebody who looks like OSC? To me he's nothing like him. I guess that's why I didn't get the joke, huh? [Smile]

Anne Kate how many times have you met OSC in person?

AJ

Phfffft. Like a hotel employee would have time to sit around and play games with us all afternoon.

Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :

Nope, definitely not a hotel employee. While they were all amazingly nice and helpful, they didn't play card games with us.

Posted by Beren One Hand (Member # 3403) on :

OK, I thought it was a very good picture.

His face was a bit round and his body frame was different, but since the OSC pictures I've seen are not recent ones, I might assume OSC just put on a little extra fluffiness on the edges.

Then we have to meet, if only to create an unholy union of our practical joke instinct.

I'd have had him sign the book, then posted the signature at the end of the thread when I was tired of pulling everyone's strings.

Not that I thought it was OSC for a second. Because then I'd have had to kill you all, and I don't have time for that today.

Uh, if we're going to get into analyzing people's personal appearance, y'all should know that we really didn't go out and pick some random stranger off the street.

Which is to say, you probably shouldn't speak (type) as if the person in question won't be reading your words.

Not that anyone here would post anything offensive about anyone's looks, but just in case . . .

Hey, Dag - it's just one more reason we have to meet one of these days.

We could have met this time if you hadn't bowed out over some flimsy excuse about a wedding or something similarly unconvincing. [Razz]

Noemon, I'm not related to OSC in any way that I'm aware of. My father has hinted that I may have a half brother somewhere in Japan but that's not gonna answer your question.

I want to revisit the comment by CT that highlighted the gray in the beard of the mystery guest. I'm guessing that My Grecian formula would help cover that up.
