Okay, we're doing chemistry. I don't want to compound your problems. Just achieve a balance. There's a sort of acid test for these things. Basically, you need to difuse the situation before you get a bad reaction.

So. Put on your pretective eyewear. Light the Bunsen burner. And pun!

Ooh, this is gonna be a gas!

But there'll be youngsters at this party, so everybody: hide your, uh, gin!

Bob, As ferrous opening smackdown posts go this one is a bit rusty. Perhaps you need to iron out a few of the details.

Edit to add, I apologize for being so critical. I'm sure this wasn't the reaction you were looking for. I'm not sure why I give in to this base desire to critisize. I'll work on limiting the acidity of my replies.

I've got a buddy who cant wear metal of any sort. He can't even carry coins in his pocket, no mettalic zippers... well you get the idea. Apparently he has a metallergy.

Solid topic to base our next punfest on, Bob. It has great acetic appeal and should get our blood Boyleing. As long as one of us isn't a mole, that is.

You know what this pary needs? Some guacamole. Who's got the Avagadros? But if anyone drinks, be careful not to drive or the cops might pull you over and make you walk the alkaline. Some people think this is wrong, but I'm neutral on the subject.

Has he been tested? It might alloy his concerns.

Oh, great, chemistry. I might only join this thread periodically, because I have so little knowledge in this area. It will be a test tu be or not tu be n this smackdown.

Oh heck, the hot dogs are ready, I have to go put the Bunsen the oven.

I could start by talking of old chemistry teacher, Al Kemy... even his most base lessons turned into pure gold.

He is in the military and is just waiting for the Brass above him to grant his medical leave.

I didn’t like the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but I am alkene to watch aldehyde scenes again. Amide like that.

Speaking of good literature, I like the story about Ester Prion by Hawthorne.

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

Dag, I've seen the movie and I'm afraid you won't get much fromaldehyde scenes. They were pretty dead. I don't even think they are worth preserving.

all the gold bars in the bank argon.. I hear the copper cars coming..

Is it true that chemists always have a question to flask? Maybe they could pipette in. Unless of course they're in Michigan, 'cuz that's a solid state.

Make fun of these puns and you argon get hurt!

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

I was radon about these chemists. I think you came up with a good solution for them.

Those jokes are dead Bob, you should barium.

I hope i'm not being too boron.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

That's amine thing to say, punwit!

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

Pepek, You aren't exactly boron but some of your puns have been a bit inert.

How would you suggest I go about curium? I tried helium once but they only got worse..

I know what you mean Pepek. I was having problems with some of my puns being leaden when I was shooting for golden. I tried transmootation once but they still seemed beside the point. Just keep atom and have faith.

I don't want to precipitate a crisis, but...

I'm finding this whole thread too elementary.

I think we should hold an electron in order to distill the various opinions to something more pure.

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

I move that we table the vote for now but periodically revisit it.

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

Bob, perhaps this loss of order is a result of no awards at the end. I think an end trophy would bring back structure to this disorder.

I met an agent the other day.. said his name was Bond.. Covalent Bond.. Isn't that Ionic?

Ugh! These puns! You must cesium!

I'm feeling rather drawn today. At least from the waist down. Yep, I've got manga knees.

*mutters about people starting chemistry threads when she is so busy, and compounding the offense by doing it when she's offline* [Grumble]

I knew someone named Hy (short for Hyman, I believe). His wife objected to his tendency of being careless with all the meds he took, leaving them in odd places. Once he left some in the fake leather sofa, and she was heard to shriek, "Die! Hy, drugs in my Naugahyde!"

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

rivka, that hurt...

[ROFL]

What did the proton say to the electron?

"It's time you came out of your shell."

To which the electron replied "are you positive?"

I 'spect rum.

All of my files in one of my file cabinets were soaked the other day. A temp had been hired to help clean up. She dumped a pitcher of water into one of the cabinets.

I asked her, "Why did you do that."

She looked up dazed, "Gee boss. The drawer said H to O"

Ion not been doin these for a while. Now you know why.

That's a good way to fall and break your hipbone or something. My grandmother lost her balance once and broke her thiol to pieces.

Equilithium indeed.

Posted by kaioshin00 (Member # 3740) on :

Your grandmother should put a bandaid on it. For broken thiols, bandaids are very good at helium.

Hey dude, you're just to negative.

Pst, about Ron for Pres, I mean he's a bright guy, um, but he's no Einstein-ium. I don't mean for this to get Heavy or such, but to win the election he'd have to like win the big states like, um, Californium and such. And to do that, he'd have to like, um, go all Organic.

Name the 3 most common types of WMD.

Nuclear
Biological
Chemical.

Name the 3 most common types of Chemistry sub-categories.

Nuclear Chemistry
Bio Chemistry
Organic Chemistry

Hence it logically follows that Organic foods are really WMDs, and Organic Farmers are all terrorists.

Dag is running rings around us. And he's doing it in a vacuum. So benzene but not heard.

Of course, his knowledge of Chemistry has brought him great wealth. He even got himself a really nice car -- a Mercedes Benzene.

It's pure amusement to him because it has ferrous wheels.

Posted by kaioshin00 (Member # 3740) on :

Dag drives a Benzene? I could have swore I saw him driving anIon.

You know, a Saturn Ion...

That was a bad one =/

I had a really bad Crick in my neck needed to ask someone for help. "Cirr – Oh, sis!" I didn't realize it was my sister until she turned around. She asked me "Watt's wrong?" and I said, "It's my necro, sis. Know what xyline?" She had a sympathetic response at first and then sternly asked "Do eu kar yotic?" I tried to be succinate, "Yes!" It was hard to focus my thoughts; the papain kept messing up my concentration gradient.

Suddenly she burst into tears. "Whoa," I thought, "ICPMS." I knew I needed to offer her a complement or diffuse her somehow. I know to make sure it doesn't sound like a peptide talk, after all, I'm not a dopamine. It was time to go home but I knew cheering her up was the rate-limiting step. "Isn’t denature beautiful?" I asked, pointing to the trees, "It’s nice to be outside our four Waals, sometimes." "Thanks, Gene," she sniffed. I hated having to cheer her up all the time; it was some sort of futile cycle. I keep hoping it's some kind of FAD but I guess it's a phase she’ll pass through. Nevertheless, part of me wants to insulin her from harm.

But it was time to go back to our duplex. I put on my CAP and called, "HeLa!" to stop a cab. I was worried the CAB driver was trypsin, but I trusted him to stearic. The operator transmitted us home with no problems. I opened the liqour cabinet, we were in Texas and it was time for some southern blotting. But not so much that I'd YAC, that's just gross.

[ROFL] btw I thought of you guys today. I was listening to the usual classical station, but with a substitute announcer do the daily trivia question. This week I guess the questions are about Ravell and he made this awful pun about "after this peice we will Ravell the answer" It was pathetic and bad, especially considering the quality of puns I've become accustomed to here!
