American Idols on Tour.
Albany, New York.

I took my daughter last night, and I have to say that I really enjoyed the show, canned though it may have been. In fact, I got quite teary-eyed at various points.

John Stevens stole the show for me. What a cutie pie in person. (we were in the fourth row) He got to sing his style of stuff, so he sounded good, and he is just so darned adorable.

LaToya London is probably the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She is tiny, lithe, classy, and her voice is "like buttah" in person.

Diana de Garma is annoying as all get-out, and I think her screechy voice, scream-talking, blew my ear drum. (I forgot the ear plugs, which I am never without for concerts)

Jon Peter was cute in Hobbit-like way, and did a great "Hey Ya." It made me think of Kat, who loved "Hey Ya," and met JPL.

Fantasia sang a killer "Purple Rain."

All in all, it was pretty darned good, and my daughter was thrilled.

I only went because of her, of course. Let's get that straight here and now.

John Stevens is related to some folks we go to church with. The Northeast Methodist call in campaign is probably part of the reason he lasted so long. [Wink]

The Tick,

I bet he had a big contingent of over 65 voters as well.

Yeah - Jon Peter is probably 5'5", 5'6" at the absolute tallest. I'm glad it went well. [Smile]

Mack,
Do not try to cover your jealousy over my American Idol Concert attendance and subsequent loss of hearing with this name-calling nonsense. Next time, I will take you, I promise.

hehehehe.

I'd like to see you try.

There is a reality TV show, Porter, called American Idol. Lots of people seem to love it. I've seen about 10 minutes of it, and it didn't really do anything for me, but it seems to have fairly broad appeal. Elizabeth is talking about a concert that she went to at which some of the contestants from a current or recent American Idol competiton performed. Or I don't know, maybe they were people from all the various season of the show.

It's interesting how universally popular the X Idol shows are. The European version, I understand, is quite popular over there, as is the Middle Eastern version.

Maybe we should just elect our next president this way, with multiple call-in votes. The whole campaigning bit is not unlike an American Idol show as it is.
