Ha! You're jealous, are you? I get to meet his dad, too. [Razz]

[Cool] [Hail] ElJay

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

I am totally jealous.

Posted by Zevlag (Member # 1405) on :

Hatrackers are great.

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

You only want him because he is a dead ringer for....

nevermind....

[Big Grin]

Posted by Ryuko (Member # 5125) on :

[Big Grin] Coolies. I'd drop by, but aside from being not-invited, I have to move in and have no time in which to do it... [Frown]

Quite.

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

Sorry about that, Ryuko. It was kinda a last-minute thing, he called on his way into town.

Anyway, we had a very pleasant dinner at a local brew-pub called Herkimer's, and chatted for quite some time. My friend Claudia came along, and ended up having an interesting conversation with punwit's father, John (? I think...) because he used to work regulating the field she works in. punwit got to try a couple of different beers, and we heard all about his fishing trip. [Smile]

See! All Hatrackers should find reasons to visit Minnesota!

You had dinner with Punwit? Did he start off the dinner conversation with 'Sup?

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

No, but when he had to go to the bathroom, he said, "Beer right back."

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

And I bet he talked about the time he worked as an assistant in a mountain county in California. He always talks about his days as a Marin aid.

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Yeah, he is always wining about those days.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Sometimes he gets quite saucy about it.

Well, I had lunch with Moshe!

Oh wait, we're supposed to be jealous because he's a HATRACKER...

*grumbletoomanyHatrackersmeetingwhenIcan'tgogrumble*

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

What did you have for lunch? Steak Moshe Dyann?(sp)

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

Haha, no... Moshe is a guy in my program that I made friends with the day before. [Razz]

We had crappy cafeteria food.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Not Moshe Chicken?

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

I'm somewhat inflamed that you all are making light of our dinner together. Dinner at a brewpub with intelligent, engaging ladies is serious business. I don't think you realize what's at steak here. The specific gravity of the situation indicates I should knife through the fat so that you understand the beef I have with this bull.

Hehe... what's at steak? Like Steak Moshe? [Wink]

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

In other words, punwit's saying, "We're trying to have fon - due you mind?"

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Oh, Dagonee, you are such a dip, born and bread.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

You've skewered me!

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

I bet ElJay wouldn't tray'd that experience for anything!

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Come on, ElJay. Fork that experience over.

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Yeah, Eljay, hop right to it, please. I have a lot of work on tap for tonight, so please make yur pint quickly.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Ah, put a cork in it!

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Settle, Dag, and breathe. No need to act like the dregs of society here.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

The meal wasn't that good, I heard. After it was graded the chef said, "This D can't be for real."

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

Actually, I heard that punwit said he was geometrically opposed to that grade and countered that "this C can't be my grade alone." However, the others said he just going off on a tangent.

The dessert selection was the real problem, apparently. When shown the options, the party was said to moan "all you have is pi?!!! [Eek!] You're pudding us on!"

<okay, now that we've brought this full circle back to food puns, I expect we'll be able to order our thoughts. If you'd care to spice things up a little, do try to remain tasteful.>

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

It was fine until the food fight started. ElJay got mousse in her hear, which would have been fine except she uses jell. "O! My!" she cried.

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

Punwit and his dad were off hunting duck, so of course they got stuck with the bill. He seemed kind of down about that. He left in a huff calling back to ElJay "eider thought you'd be more generous."

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

I thought they were fishing. I guess they had to scale back their expectations. Maybe they took a pole. Reely.

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

We were fishing, anyone tells you different is spinning a tail. I think someone thinks we are gillable and that we would swallow just about anything. Ok now that they know the jig is up perhaps we can reel in this thread and net something worthwhile.

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

The fishing was quite poor. I don't want leave you with the wrong impression. Let's keep it li creel. Ok?

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Don't try to hide it - I know you're trolling!

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

Dag, this is like our fishing. The live stuff wasn't working so we had to try de-baiting. I admit that the de-baiting didn't auger well for our case overall.

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

I would never have imagined that Eljay's thread would boil up into a pun thread. You all were just dine to cook up some puns and serve them with a smile.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Look, chum, don't try to fin-nish me off, or I'll put you in a cast.

Posted by punwit (Member # 6388) on :

I believe you are trying to lure me into something I don't wish to be in. Sorry, but I'm gonna wiggle off the hook.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

You will net escape!

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

Silly punsters, hijacking my thread. [Razz]

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

It's not hijacking. It's helping the thread revert to it's natural state. [Razz]

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Don't be bleu, Eljay. After God made you, He broke the mold, and gave you a good dressing down. It was salad of work for Him. He felt really creamed when He got home from work.

Posted by Sara Sasse (Member # 6804) on :

Lucky ElJay. Must be because she's ranchy -- all the guys like that. I'vin-regrette'in that decision for many years, maybe even a thousand, island that I am.

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

[Eek!]

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

It could be worse. When the rowing team lost, they had to carry a 2000 pound weight up the dock. The crew ton was very hard on their backs.

Posted by Sara Sasse (Member # 6804) on :

Time to toss you out, Dags. That one was ground, Pepper. Parmesan, but I think you've gone all oily on us. Tongs a lot!

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

Oh, why won't you just lettuce be?

Posted by Sara Sasse (Member # 6804) on :

Gar, lick me while you're at it.

[Wink]

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

I will romaine here as long as I wish.

Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :

Sara is getting out of control, Dag. You'd better Caesar before she gets away.

Posted by Dagonee (Member # 5818) on :

That might be impastable.

It would be cool to try - not totally radical, but rad-ish.
