Oooh, this thread is about American football, I see [Roll Eyes] (sigh).

(Just kidding, folks. I even watch a game or two, sometimes, although I find it a little too rough [Smile] )

The way you South Americans play soccer I didn't think you could call any sport rough.

Well...I don't know. Over here we call Europeans "Steel shoes" because of the way they play.

Well the South Americans dive a lot more. I can't stand it. Its done to a limited degree in the US in soccer and the equivalent in other sports, but in South America the smallest nudge sends a guy flying and rolling all over place.

Ah, my friend...that's called "artistic expression of the self". [Big Grin]

(Yeah, yeah, I know...bulls*t.)

I guess that derives from the way the game is played in South America, where the offense is much more valued than defense. Our players resent tough defenses, such as European and American ones.

But it was worse, once. Now that our best players are playing in Europe, they're becoming used to European-style soccer (although some people say that's it is also killing the 'brazilian way' of playing).

Don't know. Two titles and one 2nd place in the last three World Cups. It seems to be working [Big Grin]
