It was the fact that pressure was actually put on Sudan that made the difference. In time until we actually voted for the sanctions thousands died. We didn't actually have to use force, just threaten it and be prepared to use it if words and sanctions didn't work. I also don't think we should back down until Sudan actually does crackdown on the militias and not just talks tough.

I think that southern Sudan should be made it's own country.

The Christian and Ethnic tribes down there don't deserve to live under the yoke of a Sharian Government that gives them NO protection at all.

Anyone who has studied that region knows that the Arabic Influenced Government of Northern Sudan has NO desire or intention to adopt these Kafirs into their State or give them ANY power.

They want the oil and would rather exterminate the Kafirs rather than tolerate them.

It reminds me alot of the treatment of the Native Americans by the European Colonists.
