Jacques Derrida dies at 74.

I didn't agree with about 95% of his philosophy, but I had a lot of respect for him. Anyone else familiar with his work?

His name comes up all the time in my Contemporary Autobiography class. He's one of the theorists we've read.

Yes. He was influential in many fields.

Basically, (and this is very basically) he was the originator of decontructivism. The premise of his thought was that there are several meanings that can be taken from a piece of literature or art, and that they're not neccessarily those intended by the author.
