Limitless undying love which
Shines around me
Like a million suns,
It calls me on and on
Across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing’s gonna change my world,
Nothing’s gonna change my world.

"Across the Universe, sung by John Lennon, written by Lennon and McCartney

(my favorite of all Beatles songs)

Happy Birthday, John!

quote:
PR man Tony Barrow, who looked after The Beatles for six years, believes John would have resurrected his "world-beating song-writing partnership" with Paul McCartney:

"I actually think that, soon after 1980, he would have come home to England and got himself together with Paul to reform a partnership.

"I do not think for one minute he would have been performing. I think he would have been song-writing."

quote:
When I get older losing my hair,
Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine
Birthday greetings bottle of wine.

If I'd been out till quarter to three
Would you lock the door,
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

You'll be older too,
And if you say the word,
I could stay with you.

I could be handy, mending a fuse
When your lights have gone.
You can knit a sweater by the fireside
Sunday mornings go for a ride,

Doing the garden, digging the weeds,
Who could ask for more.
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

Every summer we can rent a cottage,
In the Isle of Wight, if it's not too dear
We shall scrimp and save
Grandchildren on your knee
Vera ,Chuck & Dave

Send me a postcard, drop me a line,
Stating point of view
Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away

Give me your answer, fill in a form
Mine for evermore
Will you still need me, will you still feed me,
When I'm sixty-four.

Across the Universe is also one of my favorites, but as of late has become too painful to listen to.

::kicks self::

I had John Lennon as a registered SN, but it was on a different email address that I can no longer access. Poop.

I remember when he was shot....sad day indeed.

John Lennon was a fine example of how worthless and stupid and a bane to society a pot smoker can be!

We need less people like John Lennon and more people like the guy who shot him.

[Roll Eyes] CStroman, meet Thor, aka The Silverblue Sun. I'm making an educated guess here, but I suspect his post was dripping with sarcasm.

Anyway, Thor, that should be "fewer" -- people can be counted. Reserve "less" for uncountable quantities. [Wink]

I figured as much but was still suprised at the tone...
