Specifically, Kryptonite, round key locks. A few months ago a whole bru-ha-ha started when a bike enthusiast, hearing this rumor from a friend, found that you could open these supposedly unbreakable locks by simply inserting the plasitic cassing of a BIC pen into the lock. He posted a video of himself doing this online, which got all sorts of people ... well upset and excited depending on who they were. Apparently this is completely valid, really all it takes to unlock is a BIC pen, a very big security issue!

Kryptonite responded by offering everyone free replacment locks!. All you have to do is go here, and fill in your personal information and the type of lock, they'll send you a new lock based on the order you registered (they just started sending out the locks themeselves this week, so undoubtly it will take a while). I'm truely sorry it took me this long to post this, I registered around a month ago. [Embarrassed] Please forgive me.

And in the meantime, register your locks! It's copmletely free, and leaving them unsecured is very dangerous now.

About time. Actually I had that lock and it jammed on me, I couldn't unlock it and the police had to cut it. Now I have a combination lock.

This is also true of laptop locks, by the way.
