What a waste of time an effort...all to say something that I didn't mean, even if i thought I did for the past 25 years.... [Roll Eyes]

I give up.

No way man. I'm hoping that somehow Tres ends up arguing semantics with himself, thus delivering the secret to true perpetual motion and averting the coming energy crisis. That is quite possibly the most important thread in the history of Hatrack and I'll not have you disparaging it. Or maybe I will, but you're not getting any of the pie I'm making for Thanksgiving.

Pie?

I'm thinking of making peach pie soon.

mmmmmm....pie!

Much better tahn talking to a wall....particularily a wall that says you don't even know what you mean when you say something.

At least if what you said was against what he wants to to mean...

So, about that pie... [Big Grin]

Any apple pie?

pervert.

Chocolate cream pie, people. It's the only true pie. Especially with milk chocolate shavings as garnish and freshly made whipped cream (not that comes-out-of-a-plastic-tub stuff.)

NO NO NO!

The One True Pie is lemon meringue, with extra tart filling and extra sweet meringue. MMMMMmmmmmmmmmm!

Pah on you pie people. Pear tarts are where it's at.

Posted by imogen (Member # 5485) on :

I can't make meringue any more because my stupid oven isn't fan forced and takes a vicious delight in burning the bottom while leaving the top uncooked.

oh...The movie American pie. Sorry, I didn't realize that my comment could be construed that way.

You've obviously never encountered a hatrack picnic out of context book. [Big Grin]

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

LOL...

I was just kidding, but Mack is right.

We had some good pie at the WMASS picnic, too.... [Evil]

Been through the ooc thread. I just .....ok I admit I hated those movies overall. They seldom had anything I cared for watching.

NO! Please! I'm a southern boy stuck in Idaho and you had to mention what ammounts to my absolute favorite thing on the face of the planet.

Must. Have. Peach. Pie!!! [Wall Bash]

Key Lime.

Anyone who thinks otherwise was obviously stunted in their taste development.

There is no pie worth eating other than pumpkin pie.

Actually, whip cream with a little bit of pie to go with it.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

Have you had pumpkin cheesecake? Does that count as pie?

It's food of the gods, that is.

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Well you're right about the pie Z, pumpkin's the only one worth even tasting.

Hobbes [Smile]

Posted by Scott R (Member # 567) on :

Okay, that's just plain stupid, Hobbes.

I mean, it just is.

Garrison Keillor:

The best pumpkin pie you've ever eaten is no better than the worst pumpkin pie you've ever eaten. Pumpkin pie is the pie-standard of mediocrity.

Thanks, Kat - you reminded me I've got to get over to CPK while they're serving pumpkin cheesecake. [Big Grin]

Posted by dkw (Member # 3264) on :

I have a pumpkin cheesecake recipe that is so rich you can slice the thing into 24 or more pieces and one is almost too much. It’s incredible.

Posted by zgator (Member # 3833) on :

CPK?

And no, I don't think cheese cake qualifies as pie. I mean, it's not cheese pie, right?

Posted by Hobbes (Member # 433) on :

Well Scott, when one advances in years, one leaves the zest for edible inquiry behind like the shining sword and the healing alms, and one settles into a pleasing, mundane existance; not something a young'n like yourself would understand, don't worry, just give it time and you'll find yourself in a rocking chair, watching the sunset.

CPK = California Pizza Kitchen.

Posted by zgator (Member # 3833) on :

Thanks Dag. Please tell me their pie is better than their pizza.

[Eek!]

I see I'm talking to a Philistine. [Big Grin]

Just because you can put some of the stuff they put on pizzas does not mean you should.

Posted by BannaOj (Member # 3206) on :

Yeah but they manage to get away with it cause the end result is that it tastes fabulous.

If they were building bridges they'd be the kind that would scandalize everyone for their revolutionary technology, that shouldn't work in a zillion years because it hasn't been proven, but the bridge would stay up!

Posted by zgator (Member # 3833) on :

Nope. If they built bridges, not only would they look funny, but they would promptly fall over just as all the sane people had predicted.

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

And they would taste like roadkill...just like their pizzas... [Razz]

French Silk Pie. What more can I say?

Oh, and if pie can be made with a graham cracker crust (key lime pie) then cheesecake is considered a pie.

These three are the holy trinity of pies.

Bob, I swear, you need your own late night show. (Other than here)
