That out of the way, I hope Nader gets eaten by a pack of hippos.

I didn't know hippos were carnivores. o_O

Ever see a hippo poo in a zoo? [Eek!] good lord.

I almost voted him for sh&^% and giggles on my absentee ballott today. Then I remembered my paycheck and decided I didn't want to chance it.

Feed him to the Hippos! Let the cockroaches have what is left of him.

Hippos are the meanest creatures on the face of the planet, Mack. You didn't know that?

I am with you on that. If Nader fell of a cliff I wouldn’t cry very much.

He is being an idiot with this election. At first I think he was really just trying to put the 3rd party candidates on the map, but now I think he just has a chip on him shoulder. He is mad that the Democrats have been trying to stop him, and the Republicans have been trying to help just for selfish purposes. He is just getting nasty now. The last speech I saw him make was just annoying.

He is also just a self righteous a**. Mr. I don't drive a car so I am SOOO much better then you.

Sorry I just get angry when people bring him up. I don't usually get this nasty. [Blushing]

Just wanted to add: I don't watch the Hippos that closely Mack. So I wouldn't know. [Razz]

Didn't you see the movie Congo?

Posted by MrSquicky (Member # 1802) on :

That's just because no one ever answers no when a hippo asks if an article of clothing makes them look fat.

I mean, jeez, you make the mistake of saying yes once and the girl tries to take your ear off. Imagine if that was happening 24/7.

If anyone wants to get a kick out of a Nader reference, read "Eon" by Greg Bear. I about died laughing. I think the guy loves Ralph Nader or something. He basically used Ralph Nader's whatever-he-did-in-the-80's philosphy to create a futuristic religion. Personally, just looking at the guy makes me gringe. [Angst]

See, I only noticed the hippo poo thing because the zoo person made a huge freaking deal over it because the hippo spins his tail while he poos which means poo goes ALL OVER THE PLACE.

I'm glad he gave us warning.

Duck and cover.

But it was a good book. Definately something different.

There needs to be a new breed of horror movie that revolves around the hippo. I mean, spiders and snakes and bees and aliens are so 70s.

Hippos!
Night of the Hippos
The Black Hippo
Godzilla vs. Mecha-hippo
Day of the Hippos
Ender's Hippo's Game

Hippos are like the cows of the river, only they hate you and will crush your puny body in their massive bulldozer-like jaws for no reason.

I'm not gonna argue with ya on that. With the exception of a few scenes that burned out my eyes in the end, I couldn't put the book down.

Some of his other stuff now.....He's out there. Great books he writes (insert yoda voice) if you understand genetics terminology and all.

I've only read Eon. Was grocery shopping, saw the book on the shelf, decided to grab it. Some of it went WAY the heck over my head, but I guess that's part of the point of Hard Sci-Fi [Smile]

Sadly he takes money from the right it seems.
I want the Green party to be more mainstream. They seem cool, but Nader's not in it anymore.

Posted by Stan the man (Member # 6249) on :

ya, Eon got me started. Darwin's radio and Darwin's children are good too, even Vitals, but they are not really Sci-Fi.

Posted by Icarus (Member # 3162) on :

Eon was the first in the Way series? Yeah, it was alright. Some of the other stank though, and the story he wrote for Far Horizons was absolutely awful. >_< [Sleep]

I thought this thread was supposed to be devoid of intelligent thought. Hey wait, isn't that an ... *poof*

National Geographic recently ran a "surfing hippos" article, though I didn't see a single picture of one on a surfboard.

The Facts:
  1. Hippos are mammals
  2. Hippos fight ALL the time.
  3. The purpose of the hippo is to flip out and kill people.

I read this as "Ever see hippo porn in a zoo?"

Thanks, mack. Now there's an image I want embedded in my brain for the rest of the day.

Storm you do know how to get the hippos to do what you want them to do...don't you?

Try hipponotism!

some zoos did (they may still do) show panda porn to pandas, to get them aroused.

Posted by Sara Sasse (Member # 6804) on :

Oh. no.

You didn't just say that, did you?

Now I have aroused pandas running through my head.

Gah!

Tammy, that's against the Hippocratic oath. It would be very hippocritical.

*turns on the cold water spray and cleans out Sara's head*

advice for robots...with that attitude we're going to have a bunch of hippochondriacs on our hands.

Only in the hippothetical sense, Tammy.

For years I had a newspaper clipping on my board about an African river guide who was half swallowed head first hippo that attacked his tour boat. He was rescued, but lost an arm to the Hippo. His comment on what it was like to be swallowed by a Hippo -- "It was really dark.

Oh whatever, just as long as the poor dears don't get hippothermia.

Posted by Tammy (Member # 4119) on :

That brings up the question of whether said hippos have or have not received their vaccinations. A hippo might have a severe allergic reaction to a candidate like Nader.

*pulls out hippodermic needle*
