Anybody been watching this site? I've kept an eye on it for the last year or so, mostly because it's amusing.

I've been tempted a few times to drop signs of my own, particularly around the free speech issues... my favorite signs are "This is the only sign you will see today that was not paid for by a corporation" and "Hey ClearChannel: How many people will have to die before we can listen to the DixieChicks again?" But I haven't done it yet. Although I've noticed some signs springing up on my daily commute, some of which have later had pictures show up on the site.

If you poke around on there, make sure you check out the archive section. a lot of the most clever ones are there.

Anyway: Have you seen signs on your freeways, and if so did you know they may be part of a coordinated national effort?

I don't know about those, but there is a sign that's up in Texas... Around Orange, I think. I used to see it when I went to Houston with my parents. Anyway, apparently, about ten years ago, a man killed his wife and got away with it because he was the son of the sheriff. Her family and friends had some wooden signs up, and have recently (in the last year) put up a big billboard.

I'm not quite sure of the story, I'll verify it with my mother tomorrow.

That's the closest I've ever seen to 'freedom of speech' sign on the road, although I would love to see those.
