Has anyone else caught Cesar Millan's show on the National Geographic channel? It was awesome.

Each episode has two encounters with two separate dogs. I was astonished at his presence, even through the camera. He took this little 12-year-old Lhasa Apso who was snarly and fierce over all her toys and her food (if you set a bowl of food down too slowly, she would bare her teeth and attack), and -- in a one day encounter -- showed her folks how to communicate dominance to her. It was amazing to watch -- you could see when she "got it," when suddenly the tension went out of her tight little body and she relaxed.

Of course, one day isn't enough, as this is an ongoing process. But it was so neat to watch.

He said "she's born this burden of being alpha for so many years, and she deserves to retire. It is too much for her." And it was. With him, she looked relaxed and happy.

I thought of AJ, of course. [Smile] Jake and Ciera are quite relaxed around her.

You know, I've seen this show listed, and have been thinking about checking it out. Now I definitely will.

Thanks Sara!

Dave called me in from the other room. I was skeptical (yeah, yeah, I get the theory, ho hum), but it was both practical and transcendent. very well-filmed.

It's on at 5:30pm weeknights (WI time, which I think is CST) on th NatGeo channel.

Ask blacwolve about me and her dog. At least I impressed her mother enough that she doesn't think I'm a totally creepy internet friend.

Oh my goodness, it took soooo long for her dog to get used to me!! She tried to bite me every single time I came over for about three years! [Eek!]

Dogs usually LIKE me! And I like them!! [Cry]

But we get along now. [Smile]

Hope it airs here in Australia some time - sounds like the sort of thing Imogen and I could enjoy at the moment! Our new pup has a new digging holes in the lawn habit that we have to persuade her out of!

cheers
tony
