My friend Sharon has been battling breast cancer for about the last 5 years, and I heard today that she has about 2 weeks left, maybe less. She is not well enough for visitors. She was just at church last Sunday, while her grandbaby was being baptised. I am so very sad; I have yet to tell the kids but will over supper.

God, that's awful. My friend's mother has hepatitis and a hole in her heart, and now they've found a lump of breast cancer. My friend's devastated.

I'll be praying for you, for her, and for her family.

Thanks all...I would love to tell you a little about her.

The one thing I think of when I think of her is her commitment to literacy. She was a full time then substitute elementary reading teacher. IN her retirement she started and headed our church library and helped start a tutoring program at our church. This was after her diagnoses. She did not just tutor kids but drove them herself if their parents had no car.

Everyone is so surprised the end is so near, she never showed pain and has done volunteer work up until the last week or so.

Wanted to let you know she passed on a few days ago. Her memorial is next Wednesday.

Thanks everyone.

Right now I feel at peace. Like I did my grieving when the "deathwatch" began so now I am just relieved she is no longer in pain.

Thanks for telling us a bit about her. She obviously touched a great many lives and left the world better than when she found it.
