Anyone seen it?

I saw it yesterday. It's a good movie, but I had a hard time liking it because the protagonist is a sturggling writer who's an alcoholic. Major literary cliche...

It is a good movie, and in a way it's realistic because the writer doesn't fix his life in the short period of time the movie takes place. At the end of the movie, there's a bit of hope. But, is it really hope? The guy's an alcoholic who had trouble getting over his divorce. At the end of the movie, he works up the courage to see a nice woman... but there's no guarantee that he's not going to screw things up with her, too, and there's also no guarantee that he's going to deal with his drinking problem.

I suppose folks will like the movie if they feel hopeful about the writer, and if they have patience to watch movies about alcoholics screwing up their lives.

(The other characters in the movie -- the writer's friend, and the two women that they date -- are actually more interesting than the writer, and they make the movie a lot more fun.)
