Yes, if someone loses their home it's tragic no matter when, but there is something just more upsetting about having your possessions and your tree and Christmas presents burn up.

My husband just got back from a fire. Six people are now homeless, three of them children.

One of the firefighters was injured, it was such a hot and severe fire his ears and neck were blistered even under his helmet and Nomex hood.

Thank God the people who live there got out safely, but they've lost everything, and right on the eve of the holiday. [Cry]

I understand extension cords are the #1 cause of fires. Also, people are more likely to die of heart attack on Christmas, and apparently children are more likely to get poisoned because of the distractions and variety of situations like visiting unfamiliar houses. Drunk driving, of course, peaks in the holidays.

I don't really know what my point is, besides that it stinks to spend the holidays in the hospital and we should be mindful of those less fortunate than us. Unless you are that last guy, the one who no one is less fortunate than.

[Frown] I hope there is a community outpouring for them...but at least they all survived. Anything else, can be replaced.
