I was on unemployment for a little while, becuase of my lay off back in October. Because I'm an idiot, I forgot to call the automated call system on one of my specified days to register for a week of no work. That killed them sending me money. Very sad, and I'm falling behind on bills and what not with only my part-time job... but I get by.
However, some lawyer office just called and left a message on my cell phone, saying they represent the Michigan Department of Labor and to please call them back.
Does anyone know what this is about? It's really freaking me out.

So... instead of calling them back, you ask Hatrack? Comrade Telp, you are addicted.

Heheh.. well it's too late to call them anyway... after 5pm and all. Besides, I want to know what's going on before I talk to them.

I wouldn't worry too much. It's likely their having issues sending tax info or something. When I left unemployment (for my current job), I simply didn't sign into the state labor web site (yup, MA has online unemployment registration).
Do get back to them quickly though.

That happened to me when I was on unemployment. They were calling me to tell me I had more weeks left.
It may seem strange, but bear in mind, it's their job to give out money.
