Now, as a disclaimer, this comic is not for kids, and those of you who are easily offended (a majority of this board) will not like this webcomic. However, the past few days worth of comics have been really interesting. I think you might want to take a look at them starting with this one...

I've been wondering if someone would post this. I don't usually go over the the other side, so I didn't realize it was there, either.

If you haven't visited the other side lately, you've missed a LOT.

Tom's right. OSC has been posting over there fairly frequently, and things have definitely livened up as a result.

Yeah, it seems like he's been bored at night in the hotel rooms for the book tour. [Smile]

Long live the book tour!

Yeah, he's posted 90 posts in just a week.

I actually started reading S*P (from the begining) because of the post on the other side.

I find it hilarious. I actually laughed so hard I cried enough to give myself a headache.

But the comic is VERY OFFENSIVE and after a while the over-the-topness of it wears thin. Don't go there if you don't like gay people, the occasional gay joke, profanity, sexual situations, "friends" abusing one another, evil chinese women, or people with unaturally coloured hair. Oh, and the very first comic strip is an abortion joke.

I love yesterday's comic. I agree with it COMPLETELY, except for the assumption that there is something to forgive in OSC. The first panel had me in stitches.

While I still think it's too preachy to truly be funny* (I've made a decision and I'm sticking to it!), the line "I still read Gaiman even though he insists on being more talented and better looking than me in real life" couldn't have been more accurate.

Gaiman even insists on being better looking than me. [Mad]

edit: *that particular controversial comic, btw. Other SP comics are actually pretty witty.

I envy you Pixiest. I did the same thing when I first discovered the strip, and now I have to read it in tiny, daily little doses. I loved plowing through SP's archives.

Noemon, I gain more and more respect for you daily.

I just want to know if the cartoonist is a jatraquero. It's way too much like one of our threads...

I think it has more to do with what Tom mentioned in the other thread. Randy was at the same convention as OSC and, I imagine, there was a lot of conversation flowing around amoung convention-goers about OSC's essays and he thought it would be a great subject matter for his characters (since they're all SF/F readers/watchers, comic book lovers, gamers and general geeks and so, consequently, is his audience).

Well, it looks like he may be now, if only for the moment.
