So, when you kiss someone do you (edit:) tilt your head to the right?

Yeah, the head, that's what I meant.

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

Do you need someone to practice with? [Razz]

No, I'm just kidding. Why do you want to know? Are you curious, or are there other reasons? [Wink]

Posted by Corwin (Member # 5705) on :

There was a talk about this in a Scrubs episode. And I realized that yeah, I also tilt my head to the right! I was just wondering how common this is. Weird... o_O

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

Well, are you right-handed?
That might have something to do with it.

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

My inclination is to tilt my head left.

Posted by Olivetta (Member # 6456) on :

I tend to tilt my head to the left. And sort of way back, unless I can pursude my Beloved to stand next to stairs. [Smile]

I didn't tilt at all when Jenny G kissed me, though. It was a surprise. *wiggles eyebrows*

Posted by quidscribis (Member # 5124) on :

It varies. [Dont Know]

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

Hehe, honestly, I don't pay that much attention. My mind is usually on other things... [Big Grin]

If I recall, from long ago days of yore when I actually was dating someone, my head tilts a little to the right. Otherwise, we'd bump noses [Eek!]

Hmm . . . I wonder if right-handed people tilt right and left-handed people tilt left? Or do you just follow your kissing partner's lead?

Oh, and Raia, if you're offering to help people practic, I'm a little rusty myself. [Big Grin] [Kiss]

Posted by Corwin (Member # 5705) on :

Yeah, I'm right-handed.

Brian: [Kiss] I suppose, if it's under the context of an educational experience... [Wink]

Nah, I'm taken. Sorry. [Big Grin]

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

I guess that would be why a lot of people tilt to the right, since right-handed people are more common. [Smile]

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

And I'm left handed.

Posted by jeniwren (Member # 2002) on :

Left, and I'm lefthanded.

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

See! See!
*jumps up and down*

(ahh...the science of kissing... [Wink] )

Posted by Corwin (Member # 5705) on :

So, another question for those who tend to tilt to the left. Isn't it awkward when the other person tries to go to the right?!

And thank you Doctor Eruve for your insight on this beautiful science! [Kiss] [Wink]

Posted by Scott R (Member # 567) on :

When I kiss, it's so phenomenal, I don't pay attention to what position my head is in.

Posted by Corwin (Member # 5705) on :

Sure it is, Scott... *pat pat*

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

*giggles uncontrollably*

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

Somehow it's never been a problem, and most of my girlfriends have been right handed.

Posted by dkw (Member # 3264) on :

I sometimes tilt one way and sometimes the other. Is that because I broke my right arm when I was just barely learning to write (age four) and had to learn to use my left hand?

Posted by Bob the Lawyer (Member # 3278) on :

Natural inclination is left and I'm right-handed. Awkward? I've had no complaints.

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

I'm ambikisstrious. [Kiss]

Posted by Corwin (Member # 5705) on :

Wow, now THAT's a cool word! [Big Grin]

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

I kinda liked it. [Smile]

Posted by Raia (Member # 4700) on :

It's fantabulous!

Posted by dkw (Member # 3264) on :

Of course, right now I just tip my desk chair straight back which lands my head in Bob's lap.

Small shared office space is much more fun when shared with a kissing partner.

Posted by Olivetta (Member # 6456) on :

I lean left, and I'm right -handed.

Corwin, it wasn't an oogy kiss, just a quick peck. I just like pretending to be naughty when I'm really a paragon of womanly virtue. [Big Grin]

Posted by Eruve Nandiriel (Member # 5677) on :

Shhh, people...you're ruining my kissing/tilt theory! [Wink]

Posted by Olivetta (Member # 6456) on :

It's probably because of the accident. Besides, my sister is left handed, and my father was ambidextrous.

Sop the theory still holds. I'm just a mutant kisser. [Big Grin]

Posted by Ben (Member # 6117) on :

You are a mutant SOMETHING alright.

i mean you're my favorite Olivia. sorry...my mind stopped working for a moment.

Olive, is that really any way to talk about your hubby? [Big Grin]

I think ambiosculatory would be the proper term.

Posted by Corwin (Member # 5705) on :

Ok people, here's an assignment for you: next time you kiss someone, try tilting your head to the side opposite to your usual one. See how that works out.

Posted by Ben (Member # 6117) on :

No way! Why mess up a sure thing?

Posted by Corwin (Member # 5705) on :

Sorry, ambikisstrious sound cooler. [Cool]

Cause I said so! Sheesh... Did you ever ask the teacher why he gave you homework?! [Roll Eyes] [Razz]

Posted by Mike (Member # 55) on :

I'm left-handed, but ambikisstrious/ambiosculatory, with a possible slight tendency to the right. Does that ruin your theories?

Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :

It is possible that lefties/ambis have developed the habit of tilting to the right because the vast majority of everyone else does the same.

For the same reason you shake hands by offering your right hand first, regardless of your dominant preference.

-Trevor

I'm right handed, and I tip to the right for the initial kiss, generally.

Posted by Chris Bridges (Member # 1138) on :

Maybe it's a drive-on-the-right thing. Do British people tilt to the left?

Posted by tt&t (Member # 5600) on :

Nah, I'm kiwi and I drive on the left and tilt to the right more naturally when I kiss. I'm right handed. I don't think I've ever kissed a left-handed person.

Mmm, kissing. [Smile]

I kiss another lefty and I'm pretty sure we both tilt left.

Yes, frequently. [Wink]

I think I gravitate right, but I'm an equal opportunity kisser. [Big Grin]

I'm left-handed, but my head tilts more easily to the right.

Then again, I suppose it depends on which part of the body I'm kissing.

*so very confused*

Might I suggest moving around and changing positions when kissing is more important than one's idiosyncratic starting position?

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

You might, Bob. You might indeed.

Posted by Bob_Scopatz (Member # 1227) on :

I have found it to be true.

Oh really........ [Evil]

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

Why Kwea, I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm perfect. And I'm not sure how you'd be making such a judgement, either. [Razz]

Posted by Kwea (Member # 2199) on :

Judging by expectation, of course.....so keep up with all the pratice, I am sure youo will improve sooner or later.. [Big Grin]
