I did produce a stone, Thankfully, it was all alone. 'Twas an unhappy end, its fate, I did commence to urinate! You may all commence to groan.
With much gusto and glee, I did invoke the stone to flee, With all my might, I did compel, This evil stone to expel. With a flush and a gush, I did pee!
And I'll tell you what, that's an awfully big three millimeters...

Well, when you consider the size of your urethra, yes, 3 mm is very big.
I bet you're feeling like I did after they took my catheter out now. Ouch.
But good job! Glad it passed. No more heavy jokes now, right? Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :
You could say I'm flush with victory.

Um, good for you?
Glad the worst is over.

Yay! The golden elixir of life.
I love the poetry that spewed forth from your moment of elation. You must have been flooded with relief.

The moment, terse. The pain, worse. I utter verse.
In subtle repose, my relief flows, Never will I flout, The joys of my spout, Please, forgive the prose.

It just keeps streaming out of you, doesn't it?

[Actually, the wordsmithing is really quite lovely. No yellow journalism here!]

Urethra!!!
I mean, Eureka!!!
Trevor, my husband had kidney issues, and was in intense pain. I am glad it is over for you. Now drink lots of fresh lemonade, or get some pure cranberry or blueberry juice, and pucker up. I mean, drink up.

Woohoo!! Rock on! (or out, as the case may be...)
Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :
Heh, thanks.
I'm just going to buy some lemon juice and start spiking my water bottle.
Thanks for all the kind thoughts.

Now you'll just have to prepare for the ulcer you'll get from all the lemon juice. hee hee.

Haha, Trevor, great verses.
Glad you are feeling better. Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :
As I am so often reminded Liz, you don't beat life - you just try to stay in the game long enough to enjoy it.

So true, Trevor. I'll send you a pack of Tums. I'm pretty sure those'll give you gallstones. Then I'll send you some fat free salad dressing...
"Hush little Trevor don't say a word Lizzie's gonna get you a case of GERD And if that GERD don't do a thing..."

I'm glad your're better now, Trevor. You better watch your diet though, or you could get another one.
Posted by TMedina (Member # 6649) on :
Actually, as I understand it, once you get your first one, you're doomed to repeat the process.
I will take the necessary modifications to my diet - I'm pretty sure what factors contributed to this one, but it looks like I've sealed my fate.

Glad the pain is over! TJ's has a pure cranberry juice...it's hard to get down, but it has cured many a UTI in my family.

Not everyone has recurrent stones. You may not be doomed. Did you save the stone? Your doctor can send it for analysis and the sort of stone it is will tell you what modifications to make to your diet, if necessary. Plenty of fluids help, if you don't know what sort of stone it is. If you don't have a doctor right now, then save it and take it in when you do get a doctor.

There are some whole food/health food stores in the area - I'll go exploring tomorrow.
I actually happen to like cranberry...with orange juice and vodka.

I did save the stone, if only to marvel at what I managed to pass.
I've been eating a lot of ground beef lately - mostly because I can get it at a $1 a pound on sale.
I'll have to make sure my water intake is sufficient - of late it hasn't and make sure I diffuse the ground beef with other foods, cheap or not.

Oh my... they make pure blueberry juice?
Posted by rivka (Member # 4859) on :
Indeed, and it's quite good.
Posted by Elizabeth (Member # 5218) on :
Yes, Annie, and it is great. Pomegranate juice, too. I drink down about half a cup every morning. I like hings sour, though.
(And, um, it does happen to be mighty fine in a cocktail.)
