What's sakeriver?

Posted by msquared (Member # 4484) on :

It's one of "Those" sites.

I just wish I could access sakeriver from work, period.

Well, I suppose I *could* access it, but only if I didn't mind getting fired.

Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :

You want it, you got it.

Posted by Erik Slaine (Member # 5583) on :

But you can access Hatrack?

<--confuzzled.

This is normal, however.

Posted by Erik Slaine (Member # 5583) on :

Whoo-Hoo!

Posted by Noemon (Member # 1115) on :

Yeah, weird huh? A couple of months ago the firewall guys reported that I had spent 600 hours on sakeriver during the month of December. Never mind that there were only 800 some hours total in that month, and that I hadn't been putting in 16 hours a day to get all of my Sakeriver time in. There was a whole to-do about it. It pretty much came to nothing, but I was told unofficially that if I wanted to keep my job I should avoid sakeriver from my work PC, period.

Posted by urbanX (Member # 1450) on :

So to get the full hatrack goodness I have to join sakeriver and pweb? Plus I have to meet two people to become "real". Do I also need to create my own con too?

Posted by Erik Slaine (Member # 5583) on :

That is strange. I had read that over on the other river, but why didn't...?

Oh, well. Just watch out!

Posted by msquared (Member # 4484) on :

You can join those sites or start your own.

Or you can join Ornery. [Smile]

And of course there's GalacticCactus, MadOwl, GrenME, and a handfull of others whose names aren't leaping to mind right this second.

I was able to get in fine.

sakeriver's playing favorites!

Posted by saxon75 (Member # 4589) on :

Some day I'll have real hosting. Some day...

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :

That day is not today, apparently.

Posted by Farmgirl (Member # 5567) on :

I just noticed that too -- as soon as I came back from lunch [Frown]

Posted by Stray (Member # 4056) on :

Gah, I just wrote a big long post and now it won't post [Mad] Ah well, at least I had the presence of mind to copy-paste it into Notepad for later.

Posted by Rakeesh (Member # 2001) on :

Started happening for me, too.

Posted by Scott R (Member # 567) on :

I can see that MPH posted something. I can click on the link. I can watch Firefox spin around and around and around...

But the river is dammed, and I cannot get through.

Posted by KarlEd (Member # 571) on :

Dammed, but not damned, I hope.

Posted by KarlEd (Member # 571) on :

I think it was my new avatar that broke it. [Frown]

Posted by mr_porteiro_head (Member # 4644) on :

I'm itching for things to progress in the campaign!

Posted by kmbboots (Member # 8576) on :

That explains why there hasn't been anything new for a while. I figured you were all still laughing so hard at my blunder that you couldn't type!

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

I could check my PMs, but I couldn't send one, and I can see who's posted but not read the posts. Torture!

Posted by twinky (Member # 693) on :

:/

Posted by Stray (Member # 4056) on :

I tried to post, but couldn't, and now it won't even go to the main page. Sigh.

its not letting me log on for a matter of fact, I click log in, type in my name and password, click enter and nothing happens I even get the "Logging you in" bit and brings me back to main and im still not logged in.

Back!

Posted by El JT de Spang (Member # 7742) on :

Blayne, you have to delete your cookies. That's a mod that saxy made a few weeks ago that broke cookies. Delete them, restart your browser and you should be good to go.

You went up against a Sicilian when death was on the line?

How fascinating? It was very interesting to see what you guys have been saying about me on sakeriver.

Posted by Farmgirl (Member # 5567) on :

We try to share the love, enochville [Smile]

That's right. You aren't there during the day. You would have to see it. Having never heard of Jack Chick, I thought Jack Chick's Tracts were something else entirely. (I thought "Jack" was a verb.)

Lucky for me, I tend to be amused at my own dorkiness.

karl: Your avatar broke my brain.

I need to do my campaign turn. I'm writing offline, but I need to post. [Mad] Or Slash will burninate me.

Posted by El JT de Spang (Member # 7742) on :

enochville, those comments about your mom were totally out of line, and I apologize. [Wink]

JT, I was just going back to tell you I liked your pennies entry and would love a low member number at your forum, but am holding off to try to get 13, which is my lucky number. [Smile]

Posted by Farmgirl (Member # 5567) on :

Maybe we should all go over to JT's forum for awhile -- at least that would jump-start it...

Posted by kmbboots (Member # 8576) on :

remind me of the name?

Posted by Farmgirl (Member # 5567) on :

Nope, not gonna post it here unless he chooses to.

(hint: if you looked at it earlier, it might still be in your history list on your browser)

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

kate, if you email me, (breyerchic04 at gmail dot com) I'll send it to you, but I can't do email through the site so I can't email you.

Oh and now the board is back so you can just look in the thread.

Posted by kmbboots (Member # 8576) on :

Yup. Thanks, though! Ignore my e-mail, unless you want to send your address so I can mail those other things next month.

You have enough people in your immediate family to get up to that number. Better make some calls.

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

Oh hehe she really does.

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

Do not. [Razz]

Krabby Patty 7
Poseable Nurse 8
Enigmatic 9
dkw 10
Bob_Scopatz 11

That is my immediate and extended family on Hatrack.

Posted by kmbboots (Member # 8576) on :

I want to be 11. having some trouble registering.

Posted by dkw (Member # 3264) on :

You might be able to talk Smokey into registering. If you offer a biscuit.

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

Does JT have a no alts rule?

Posted by El JT de Spang (Member # 7742) on :

JT has no rules to speak of at this point.

And I can think of one other person ElJay could coerce.

edit: Kate (and Porter, maybe), you have to register for the forum at the forum. The blog registrations don't transfer, which annoys me to no end and I can't fix yet.

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

*shrug* You said immediate family.

I like the no rules thing, though. I could just go register 6 alts and then my real handle as number 13. . .

[Wink]

Added: Also, I don't coerce. Not my thing.

Is the site a secret?

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

You're up to 9!

Posted by kmbboots (Member # 8576) on :

Ahhhh. Found "the spot". Always a good thing. I am number 10.

Posted by El JT de Spang (Member # 7742) on :

No. It's so much not a secret that you can click on my profile to get to it. I'm just not advertising it here because I'm not sure I can handle the traffic I could conceivably get.

And I'm a perfectionist, so I wanted to wait until it was "perfect" before the big unveiling. But then I wrote about pennies and I couldn't wait to spread the word. It's a grassroots campaign, after all.

Posted by katharina (Member # 827) on :

I understand completely. [Smile]

Posted by breyerchic04 (Member # 6423) on :

Isn't Wyatt immeadiate family too? I was counting it.

Posted by ElJay (Member # 6358) on :

Immediate family is mom, dad & siblings, as far as I'm concerned. Nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws are extended. Sorry Bob.

On the other hand, I would not be at all offended if Dana now considers Bob & Wyatt as her immediate, and the rest of us as extended. Whichever. [Smile]
