A few (4-5) years back I read a story that dealt with an extremely realalistic game where players controlled nations in various scenarios and someone built up Italy from 1914 into a powerhouse empire. It was something like Neubler's Italy, but I probably have the first word wrong. The story also dealt with a drug-induced suspended animation that allowed the rich and powerful to greatly extend their lifespans. But I can't for the life of me recall the name of the book. Surely someone with a better memory than me can help me out?

No.

Why "no"? That would have been my first guess.

That's one of Card's Worthing stories, and indeed is included in The Worthing Saga. It was earlier printed elsewhere, however.

I was saying no to helping him...as I didn't know myself....
